June 7 celebrates The Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary with never-before-seen archival concert footage and songs from the band’s new album.
The episodes each run one hour long with the exception of “The Beach Boys: Summer’s Gone” episode, which is 90 minutes.

The show comes from the producers of the acclaimed PBS music series “Soundstage”

That is, Joe Thomas.

"Summer's Gone..." could that also be the title of the new album and/or a track on the album?

If the album title is "Summers Gone" I wonder if that's symbolic of this maybe being their last album?

That will probably be the album title I would suppose as well.  It doesn't necessarily mean it's the last album, though... just a clever title.

So, the event itself:

Kickass. I'm always craving unreleased footage.

Also: think about the Good Vibrations session footage that got shown a few months back. We've been getting some great stuff recently.

So what is this? A filmed version of the reunion concert, broadcast on PBS? With a documentary overview intermixed? That sounds really cool.

Wowy, now that's really big news! Cheesy

And I really love the words 'never-before-seen'.  3D

Last album?
History has shown that last albums are often the band's best albums...
Abbey Road, uh, etc...

Yeah, Phobia was definately the Kinks best album; Mardi Gras, as discussed elsewhere on the board, certainly STANDS OUT among the Creedence albums: thank God the Monkees didn't let Changes stand as their last.....or for that matter, Pool it!

Endless Harmony was quite good, and on US television.

True, but I think in both cases the 'goodness' was down to the production teams.

Yeah, I really liked that one. I hope it never gets deleted off my DVR. I really like the part where you get to hear Carl sing some of Surfer Girl. So used to hearing the harmony blend, now every time I hear the song, I hear Carl's part instead of Brian's.

His voice is definitely going to be missed in 2012.  Undecided

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

So where's the BIG, BIG news??  So dramatic!  I thought this was about the new album songlist or Blondie/Ricky were joining the tour or something.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

THANK you.  Been meaning to say that.  People live into their 90's, and the boys are 70 or younger.  Tony Bennett is 85 and seemingly going strong, and a pianist named Horszowski (sp.?-- I don't mean Horowitz) did his last recording at 99.

I'd say it's LIKELY their last album, given the way things have been for the last 25 years, but that's just an assumption, seeing as Brian just decided to start sounding 30 again in the last few years.

Maybe they'll remake Fall Breaks and Back to Winter on this one, and Winter Symphony on the one after that.  If they make a 3rd reunion album for their 75th anniversary, I guess they're stuck cycling back to Their Hearts Well Full of Spring. At that point, it'll be a Wall of Foskett.

Don't worry baby, you are talking about the BIG, BIG, BIG news. The day with that will come soon enough.
