Are you finding it harder and harder to swallow the usual segmented Worm Mix?
Have you ever wished it would go down as easy as a real song?

Well, relief is on the way.  Do You Like Worms (Less Crunchy Worm Mix) is guaranteed to be 20% smoother* than the leading "Worm".

You can taste it HERE:

http://www.mediafire.com/?b7rxj3p48a001de

http://www.4shared.com/music/bRgb5D6m/Do_You_Like_Worms.html

NOTES:
 - Sourced from TSS (Box Set), Lost Smile Sessions, Unsurpassed Masters 16 & 17
 - Vocal extractions lifted from SMiLE A.D. 2.0
 - Contains less than 1% of MSG, BHA and BWPS

* Smoothness is a subjective quality.  Opinions may vary.

I liked the part where the caveman chant thing went on for seven minutes.

Am i the only one who thinks the "Rock, Rock, Roll" vocals sound great over the kettle drum part?

I like it a lot. One thing that bothers me is when the flown in BWPS start and then you transition back to the TSS instrumentation, it sounds very awkward.

I dig it - but would love to hear it in better quality (if possible). It sounds like a low bit-rate mp3.

The links to my previously posted mixes seem to have stopped functioning.  Here's some new ones:

You've got a nice sense of dynamics there, Sloop, and there's some cool original stuff that's going on. However, I think the Rock Roll and Woo Woo at the end go against what you were trying to achieve by creating a smoother, less-jarring mix for Worms. You should just end it before that happens. I did miss the Hawaii section though.  Thanks for sharing some Smile love, buddy.

Actually, the "Woo Woo" part is intended to be the link connecting the next song in my SMiLE mix - Barnyard.  You're right, though, as a stand-alone song DYLW should end with the harpsichord wind-down, or (my original intent) a final, heavily-reverbed "Rock, Rock, Roll, Rock, Roll".

As for the Hawaii section, I always thought it drags down the pacing of the song and goes on way too long in most mixes.  (One of my aims was to keep Worms around 3 minutes long)  If I can find a spot that works maybe I'll add it in an updated version.   Thanks for your comments.

is this true? I will download and listen if this is true. I think Do You Like Worms is perfect as it is though.

Very good - some of the splits feel a bit too clipped, but it's still good! It all feels like some vast chant. Which makes the absence of the 'Mahalo Lu Lei' section even worse.... That really is a dealbreaker for me.

Also, I am curious as to why you didn't stick the SMiLE Sessions melody in it? I thought all the fan mixes would attempt to stick it in, but I've only heard experiments so far.

My aim was to make a "3-minute single" version of Worms, so obviously I had to leave some things out.  When I complete "Side One" of my SMiLE mix, I may extend the track to include the Hawaiian chant if I can find a place that's suitable.  I've always considered that section to be something that would have been cut had the song been completed - it doesn't seem to fit with what precedes it and drags on far too long, in my opinion.

As for the vocal melody snippet, I have to admit I'm totally out of the loop on that one, but after reading the DYLW thread, I'll definitely check it out.

Probably because it trails off and is of a strange quality given it being sung through whatever Brian was talking through at the console. Damn shame Cry

FYI, I just started working on With Me Tonight, which as I had previously mentioned will be another SMiLE/Smiley Smile hybrid, like I did with Vegetables.  It will eventually appear on "Side 1" of my Historically Inaccurate SMiLE Mix (in progress).  Should be finished in about a week or two...

Yeah- I remember hearing a mix by somebody who tried to use that  bit and it was just beyond distracting. It's really not useable.
