New Explorer's Club CD- Grand Hotel 2/14/12

There's a new CD out by The Explorers Club. I'm sure that many people on this board found their way to their first CD 'Freedom Wind' which was an extremely well-crafted homage to the Beach Boys through several phases of their career. If you have never heard it, you should check it out by any means possible. The new CD still shows the Beach Boys influence, but this one is as much Bacharach as it is Wilson i.e. a more generalized late-60s/early 70s pop album. The Wondermints used to have this territory pretty well covered, but it seems like they're not much interested in releasing new material. Enter The Explorers Club. Amazon currently has 9 free mp3 downloads available: 6 are works in progress from the new CD, and the other 3 are cover versions of Hitchin A Ride, Stormy, and Walk On By. Here's where you get them:

If you're interested in buying the whole CD as an mp3 download, Amazon has it right now for only 4.99, a good bargain for music of this quality. I've heard a couple tracks off the new record on Sirius. It sounds much more deep than the last record, I like d them.

I've been into the Explorers Club recently. I haven't heard all of their new album but I do like Run, Run, Run - I think that is worthy of a single release internationally. I have Freedom Wind and although it's not Beach Boys level, it's a nice copy of them.
