Maybe an obvious question for valentine's day but an inoffensive one for a 1st time post: what do you consider to be The Beach Boys' most romantic song? Caroline, No, Our Sweet Love, Warmth of the Sun? Ding Dang?

All great choices. I think what's striking about them all is how sincere and innocent the performances are. The BBs certainly sang them like they meant every word. It's that lack of cynicism/irony which is one of the (many) reasons I love the band.

There are loads but I think the most romantic is Forever. The words and feel of the song are just perfect. I prefer God Only Knows and this is a close second as favourite beach boys song but definitely the one I'd sing to a girl for sure.

Good titles all, so far; mine is Surfer Girl. #2 would be I Can Hear Music, but I'm thinking this list is for originals. The songs mentioned from Today are incredible, and of course Pet Sounds. Surfer Moon and Your Summer Dream rate pretty high in my book, but Surfer Girl is an all time great. Simple and sublime.
