Can't find a post to this anywhere else on the board, but Mr Wilson is in fine form on this unexpected Tonight Show performance, and looks pretty comfortable as a backing  singer!

Apols if it's been highlighted before but suspect it might have been overlooked given all the The SMiLE Sessions activity taking place at the time.

Nice clip, thanks!  Going by Jeff's appearance, it seems to be from a few years ago...I'd say 2005-2007...

There's a youtube-thread in the media section. A lot of cool videos posted there:

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Brian looked comfortable in that video.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

2005, just after the track was released (Brian's on the bonus version only).

Yes he did, very much so. Sounded great too, as did Neil. Smiley

Nice one - I remember my brother in-law forcing me to stay up to watch the Late show, which I reluctantly agreed to do.  And then having the pleasure of seeing this performance as it happened (+ australian delay) - at which stage said Bro-Lo headed off to bed!!!

I really like the song and Brian's vocals on that. He's all over it. I saved the live UTube version just so I could play it back once in awhile. I still play it sometimes. At the end, Neil goes over and shakes Brian's hand. Very cool.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The whole album this track is on is great, and that performance is a treat. Brian really seems to be enjoying it. Lovely stuff.

jeez, Brian sounded absolutely fantsastic.  That has to rank right up there with The Beach Boys performance at the Reagan inaugural ball in January, 1985 as Brian's two best television performances ever, at least for my money. FWIW, both were spot on backing vocals that carried the performances

Caveat emptor - there are two versions of 12 Songs: the regular one, and a version with two bonus tracks. Brian's only on the latter.
