Maybe this is just the way they are promoting this reunion by having Brian changing his mind back and forth and the members arguing with each other then showing up at the last minute, after all it IS getting people talking about it and it seems to be getting in the media..

I don't think anyone with the band thinks this deeply about promoting anything.

Also the fact David has been in California with both Al and Mike. Could he be recording his first 'new' Beach Boy album in almost 50 years?

That would be pretty amazing... A musician making his "comeback" as a recording member of a major band after almost half a century. I doubt if that ever happened before.

I've got the print edition of RS. The story is much the same as what Contact Music reported, but adds the possibility of a multi-night stint on the Jimmy Fallon show.

Thanks for that.

U2 did a week on Letterman a few years back. Could be good stuff.

Plus free tickets. And that's only a 6 hour drive away for me.  Afro

That would be great..

Fallon is a big Beach Boys fan, he was in the audience at that all star tribute to Brian a few years back

He tells Rolling Stone, "I thought the Grammys might make the announcement. I don't know what happened... There will be a surprise at the Grammys. We'll do something really exciting... It's going to be a very big operation."
...

Here's my bet: They're going to lip-synch the 1981 Beach Boys medley. Grin

Okay, that nearly made me do a spit take! Seriously! Anyone that hasn’t seen their horrendous circa-1981 lip sync performance on the Dick Clark Anniversary Special, it’s one for the ages for sure……..
Brian barely mouthing Carl's parts is the highlight. Grin

IIRC, another great part is Alan almost losing his guitar belt throughout the performance. Too bad I can't find this video on youtube anymore. I expect this footage to turn up as bonus material on the long overdue 1981 Long Beach concert DVD. Cheesy

Didn't Al lose his guitar belt in the "Here Comes The Night" promo too?

So, which one is worse?
