If I was drinking the irritating kool-aid tonight, i'd probably concoct some horrific post full of abbreviations, but no.

It sounds a little better then BW Christmas album IMO. Not as good as BWRG, though.

This is completely otm
It took me a good five minutes to figure out what "otm" meant. why are people so lazy?

What's really irritating about it is, it passes off work onto the reader.

So for instance, he could write "On The Money" and it'd be slightly more work than writing "OTM".

However, as the reader, now you have to work your ass off to figure out what it means.

It's downright disrespectful, that's what it is.

I even tried googling it, and the first few results were "on the mat", "on the media", and "oracle transport management", and then I gave up.

I downloaded the Disney album and listened to one or two songs. Not very interesting imo. Maybe I'll give it a complete listen in a year or so, when I'm done mixing my own Smile, and done listening to it.

I loved the Gershwin album and thought Disney might dissapoint but it has a casual charm. Baby Mine and Stay Awake are beautiful and We Belong Together will be played at my wedding in April. Thanks Brian!

Reminds me of Friends as well...some of the versions are hard to listen to, but the best stuff is terrific...

Here's a huge difference - the price.  You can download the Disney album on Amazon for $4.99.  Holy smokes, that's a deal.

http://www.amazon.com/Key-Disney-Amazon-Exclusive-Version/dp/B005V0VE18/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_1

That includes the two songs that weren't on the CD (though Amazon says their CD has 12 tacks.  Mine has 11 - weird)

12. A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes (Amazon MP3 Exclusive)
13. Peace On Earth (Amazon MP3 Exclusive)

iTunes doesn't have these two songs apparently.

Unfortunately the downloads are not available to those of us in the UK. Kinda forces us into illegal download territory. I'd rather pay for it if it was available.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I listened to a couple of tracks of the Disney album.  Pretty likely that I'll never need to play this CD again.  But an excellent coaster this disc will make.  :-)

As for SMiLE, I'm not exactly sure as to *how* to listen to it.  I mean, it's not like this box set is something that you could really shuffle in your iPod.  And perhaps I've been spoiled with the 2004 completed version of this album BW recorded, but I find the missing ingredients of the original version to be somewhat jarring.  Still, there is some fun to be had with all the content from this box set and playing around with making my own damn SMiLE mix.
