http://www.soundstagedirect.com/beach-boys-japan-relief-vinyl-records.shtml

I can't believe a previously unreleased version of a 60s Beach Boys recording is only going to be contained on a 7 inch single as the B side to a song from Al's album.

and it's ironic that the A side was recorded by each member separately and the b side is all about unity.

Hold on, hasn't this been available since April 2011?

goshdarnit. I missed all the news from earlier in the year because I had a girlfriend and didn't go on the boards that much. well, Al just posted a link to it today for some reason.

YOU KNOW, I was wondering why someone would be releasing something to benefit the victims of something that happened awhile ago...

Don't be too hard on yourself. It's not as if the acapella version of Friends was big news either!

Stay away from them girls, Aegir. Next thing you know, she'll be telling you to get rid of your collection to make way for a bairn… Grin

I have to say, I didn't notice this release when it first surfaced earlier either.  And I am actually super bummed that I missed out on an opportunity to hear the Friends A Capella.  As a big fan of the song, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to hear the backing track.  The A Capella is another piece of a wonderful song that I'd love to hear isolated!

This may be the best quote EVER on this board.  It has everything.  I especially like how the word "had" is past tense, LOL.

the fact that "had" is in past tense is the least funny part of that post, my life, and everything else.

It's no consolation my friend, such times can be hard.

But as Al Jardine might sing,

"There are plenty more fish in the ocean,
Off the Big Sur Coast, by the sea,
So please, Help Me Rhonda,
Let's go trawling on the Sloop John B."

I didn't say it was funny, lol.  I'm just saying it's telling.
