Hi all,

Firstly let me come clean. When I used to post here under my real name Stephen Newcombe, I pissed a lot of people off by claiming Phil Spector was innocent. I vowed never to return, but of course did under my current avator, as you do.

Secondly I shamelessly plugged my own version of Surfs Up, again, as you do, sorry!

But I am pleased to announce that my new song "3" is now finished. It has taken months, consists of many sections and ideas, and is available here at my website.

http://www.stephennewcombe.com/Music/Music%20-%20A%20Normal%20Album%20With%20Twelve%20Songs%20On%20It.php

Just click the download button next to "3", and please explore my site and listen to some of my albums. All you SMiLE-O-PHiLES should enjoy The Wrong Button.

Enjoy "3", and pllease let me know what you think

Gee, thanks Ghost for your comment.

This is not a song from Song Cycle, this is a wholly original work comprising of many sections which has taken me months.

It ranges from Bluegrass, to 50's rock'n'roll, to Pet Sounds, Jazz, Classical, Renaissance and way back to medieval music.

I guarantee you've never heard anything like it.

Obviously it was too weird, complex and overwhelming for Ghost to handle.

I don't know, I think if anyone said anything I'd done sounded like Song Cycle I'd take it as a massive compliment!

This is kinda incredible, btw  Grin

Oh I would too, but I'm not sure he meant it as a compliment. Sounded more like I was being accused of plagiarism, I could be wrong though, if so aplogies Ghost.

Thanks for the listen hypehat, glad you enjoyed.

Bravo, this a well done piece of music.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Thanks for the listen hypehat, glad you enjoyed.

It was clearly meant as a compliment albeit delivered in Ghost's unique curve ball style.

It does sound extremely Van Dyke Parks esque. But hey, that's not a bad thing!

Exactly - Even Van Dyke Parks can't do it any more!

Wow! Kool-Aid Man Listening Transcendental Meditation Brian's Trip Very SMiLE-like with the sections, and as the others have said, very VDP-ish, some of the sections remind me a little of Barenaked Ladies' keyboardist Kevin Hearn's solo stuff.
