A recent picture of Brian...

I recently had the good fortune of seeing Brian perfom in concert again. My wife took this picture of hime which I'd like to share:
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u196/acedecade75/Various%20Pictures/BWpic13.jpg
I've seen Brian rather frequently over the last 10 years, but in this picture it really struck me how old he is looking. I think his days of performing live might really be winding down. If you have a chance to see him, don't pass it up.

I noticed that too in some recent interview with Brian his age is definitely catching up with him all of a sudden.

I have been thinking the same recently. It just seems in the last 6 months ago he looks more tired.

He does look old all of a sudden, which is surprising given his 80s facelift, but not surprising given what he did to himself with drugs and all the trauma he went through. Paul McCartney looks very old in the face too, but somehow Brian looks more old-man-like. It may also be because he stopped dying his hair (Brian, not Paul). Well, they're both pushing 70.

He feels like an old Indian chief to me--very spiritual, but been through all the battles, seen all the carnage.

It's also the face fat.
Faul Mccartney looks like his face is falling apart whenever I see him - like when he was looking bored as HELL listening to Mike Love speak about TM in something I watched recently on YouTube.
You know who has aged extremely well? Mike Love and Al Jardine. Old even got to Bruce, but not Mike & Al yet.
I can't imagine Dennis in his late 60s at all. He'd probably kill himself if he lost his potency - although judging by Brian's twice a day comment it sounds like the Wilson blood has no problem rushing to the head when needed.

No doubt Myke has had reimagining done on his puss-his ego wouldn't allow sags or lines to appear and his face is as tight as a well tuned snare drum.

Brian should get himself cryogenically frozen before it's too late.
The current thinking is that nitrogen freezing
before
death is really the way forward. The speed at which you are frozen is very important, as ice crystals cause celular damage, a real problem if you want to have a functioning brain upon re-animation.
He's lucky as well as he can afford full body freezing, not just the cheap "heads only" option which I'll be doing. Unfortunately you have to be dead for that.
In the future he'll be able to have his ageing reversed.

If young Brian WIlson was living in 2011, what kind of music do you think he'd be making, and would it go to number one?

There's probably a number of young people around with Brian's musical aptitude. Whether it is nurtured, and whether the right opportunities come along, and whether they have the right people around them, and whether the time is right, and whether........
Nature abhors a vacuum. If the need is there, a person will fulfil that need.
There is no need for anyone with Brian's talent at the moment.

Uh, I believe we ALL need it. I'd love to hear someone do a real, heartfelt masterpiece before another bored, jaded writer gives that title to another Yankee Hotel Foxtrot...

Sad but true. No record company today would have a clue what to do with a 22-year-old Brian Wilson (with or without the Beach Boys). If anything, they would probably try to mold them into another "boy band" - those are just about due for another upswing. Or perhaps Brian would be like a Sufjan Stevens singer/songwriter type, off on his own trip without much regard for making hit records
Of course, in this alternate universe, a Brian Wilson born in, say, 1989 would be a much different Brian Wilson that the one who was born in 1942. Same natural gifts, but different upbringing, different musical influences. The mind truly boggles.

Brian's skin got very loose after he lost weight in the eighties. Pictures from right before the facelift show a lot of extra skin and wrinkles. I think he had another face lift in the 90s after loosing the weight he'd gained after Landy. That extra skin is showing up again. Thus Brian looks older than he is. Looked great in the LOS pictures, though.
On the other hand, Mike has always looked older than he really was, but, sonce he got to his late 60s he started looking just his age (and handsomely so). I agree that Alan has aged well, also; he, like Mike, resembled an older age when younger.

Fascinating insights, truly. I wonder how Brian feels about his face melting. Very interesting point about Mike always looking much older than his age. Once his beard got longer and he got balder and the robes began he looked in his 40s not... 20s? 30s?

I think we just found the person to play Brian in the bio pic.
Seriously, the old man as latter day Brian would be perfect.

I know where the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is. It's downtown and there's usually a line of tourists hanging out outside. I've never been inside myself but now I might finally have a reason to.
