What about Summer of Love with Bart Simpson?

But I don't recall hearing that the BBs' turned that down; more like Bart (or the powers that be) turned down the BBs. Wish there was more known about this. Someone should ask Matt Groening.

Opinion question for anyone here who follows hip hop/rap, which I have thought about a number of times over the years since I first heard the RUN DMC story...if this collaboration had actually happened with RUN DMC rather than the Fat Boys, how would history have viewed it?  RUN DMC have an awful lot of cred and if the Beach Boys had recorded with them in the mid to late 80's how would that have affected the way hip hop fans viewed the Beach Boys (would it have given them a certain amount of credibility or not)?  Would RUN DMC be looked down upon?

I fear that if Run DMC had been the band to collaborate, and if it had been a hit, there'd be more followup collabs, like Sloop John DMC, Let Him Run DMC Wild, I'd Love Just Once to Run DMC You, etc...

And production aside, Id so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
