Hey, what about us Beach Girls? I'm doing pretty good with that checklist, except for the California boyfriend and the Corvette. I even "Shut Down" a few wannabes who challenged my Chevy Nova at a light, so I consider that a drag race! |

I've done numbers 5-7. Numbers 1,2,8, and 9 are reasonable enough (Not sure how much I want to dress like a Beach Boys though lol). I'm not getting anywhere near a California Girl unfortunately and there are many cars I'd rather have before a Stingray. But it's a good list! |

My step-father owned one (red 63 spilt-window) and in summer 1965 we drove from Dallas to El Lay in it (really cramped) We lived in the San Fernado Valley so I was pretty near Brian when he was recording Smile. Does that count??? I need to know. Oh, and do I need a GTO to be a Monkee? |

My wife is from Washington State - thats on the Pacific Ocean and just Oregon in the way. But she may frown on me following this rule. I do have a red striped shirt sorta like Brian wore in those Western Recorders pics standing next to Chuck. and I have a green one too. If I could find a Pinto-print pull-over sweater like he had I would wear that in public too. |
