No real surprises yet. "Marcella" was in and sounded awesome. Dave did "Getcha Back". Funny moment when Mike mentioned the President. I'll do the setlist when I don't have to type on a phone.

Off the top of my head in no order, Marcella, Pet Sounds, God Only Knows, Forever, Surfin USA, Surfin Safari, Hawaii, Sail On Sailor, Kokomo, Barbara Ann, Don't Back Down, 409, I Get Around, Little Deuce Coupe, Disney Girls, Wendy, Getcha Back, Don't Worry Baby, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Do You Wanna Dance, Help Me Rhonda, California Saga, Cottonfields, Isn't It Time, TWGMTR, Wouldn't It Be Nice, I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, Our Prayer, Heroes & Villains, Little Honda, Add Some Music To Your Day, All This Is That, Be True To Your School, California Girls, Do It Again, Fun, Fun, Fun, Good Vibrations, In My Room, Surfer Girl, Kiss Me Baby, Please Let Me Wonder, Rock N Roll Music, Shut Down, Then I Kissed Her, When I Grow Up, Catch A Wave (I think?)
The only one I'm not sure about is Catch A Wave, so they played a pretty massive set.
I was kind of hoping to hear either Darlin or Ballad of Ole Betsy. I was very happy they played Getcha Back, it's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I was glad they didn't do California Dreamin this time. I could probably do without Do You Wanna Dance and All This Is That. Wendy lags the show a little bit as well, though I do love that song.
Brian was ON tonight. He was groovin a couple times, his voice was maybe the best I've ever heard it. He told the crowd to clap during Good Vibrations and when someone flubbed a line on Add Some Music, he spoke up and laughed and said, "We forgot the lyrics" but you could barely hear it because I think someone else was talking over him. Really solid, especially on TWGMTR surprisingly. Dave was killer again on all of his leads, Al's voice was spot on.
Nelson came running down I think during Rock N Roll Music with a cowbell and was just blasting the thing in Al's ear, which Al had a good laugh about.
Cowsill's hi hat fell during Fun, Fun, Fun, so Nelson had to run behind him to help him out, he kept the beat just banging his floor tom, but it probably sounded a little weird to whoever didn't know what was going on.

Oh and at one point my girlfriend (who didn't go to the Mohegan show with me) turned to me and said, "Bruce is kind of useless" during one of his many times walking very far away from the mic and pumping up the crowd. I really do wish he would care more about singing than adjusting his mic and clapping his hands.

Sorry, video's taking forever to upload considering it's only a minute long.
Meantime, great great show overall. I'd have liked "This Whole World", but I was quite happy with the set. Brian was really into it, lots of arm flapping and conducting the band. Mike worked the crowd really well, and Bruce jokingly referenced his Obama gaffe at one point. Brian seemed very emotional during GOK. I was sitting pretty close to him, and he was definitely staring at the video for a while. Then at the "ba ba ba" section in the middle, he turned back to his piano and sort of made a fist and held it up to his face as if trying to keep composure, immediately after which he wiped his eyes. Now, with Brian, who knows? That could've been a burp and sweat in his eyes. But it seemed like he was missing his brother. He spent the rest of the song with his eyes shut and his head down, but then dove right into GV.
I don't know if it had to do with the frequencies they were emphasizing in his voice, but he sounded to my ears rather like he did in '88 some of the time. A bit more treble than I was expecting.
Mike also sounded unbelievable. The YouTube videos didn't prepare me for how strong he sounded. Like he hasn't aged at all. Even more so for Al, who sounds incredibly like his younger self.
So by and large, fantastic show, thrilled that I went. Dropped half a week's pay at the merch stand, two tees, a hoodie, and the Al and Dave albums. Great experience, though. One I'll remember for a long long time.

Or we could rig his mic stand to deliver a mild yet irritating shock every time he tries to adjust it.

Hell,
I
was nearly in tears during the song. I can't imagine how much hard it is for Brian to go through that every night.

Guess I'm lucky. After our third show, my wife insisted we go to Stateline on July 15. By the way, Darlin' sure didn't last long in the set...

Pet Sounds and Our Prayer? Go on vacation for a week without access to Internet and I miss all this?! The Boys sound like they're really having a blast! Got a lot of catching up to do now!
