The CD appears to be out of stock on the Walmart site, there's one copy on Amazon for $30+ and none on eBay. I hope they stock up on these soon, I need a copy!

Got tickets for the WI show, looking forward to it!

Does anyone know if there's any bonus material on the DVD or Blu-Ray?

There's 15 minutes of "Additional interviews & deleted scenes." Not much, but it's something. I haven't watched the bonus stuff yet, just checked to see how much we actually got.

Where did you order?

I preordered mine from the Walmart website.

I'll know tomorrow, that's when my order comes. I'll let you know then (if there's still no answer).

I have the blu-ray preordered from Walmart, which is apparently coming out on Tuesday. I haven't seen any official press release for it yet, though.

It's just always seemed like a project he's actually been bursting with excitement about every time he's mentioned it over the years and years (and years). But I understand that he may really want to but just doesn't feel it in the moment every time the band is ready to go.

I wish that the powers that be would just let him make his "rock and roll" album. It would be one of the great tragedies of the man's life if he never got to do it.

Did Love and Mercy perform well in the theaters? I didn't even think my local theater had gotten it until it had been out for weeks. Although it would be really great, I couldn't see this documentary doing well as a mass-market theater release. Indie theaters or limited release, maybe. But I agree, streaming is where their heads should be at with this.
9  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Britney Spears, Brian Wilson, and Conservatorship Issues on: June 29, 2021, 06:55:06 PM
I had the same takeaway when I heard the Britney Spears court testimony. The longer I listened to it, the more I thought she was getting Landy'd by her own dad. It started sounding more and more like what happened to Brian in many ways. There was a part that reminded me of how the Beach Boys had to do one concert every month or so (or something like that) where the profit would solely go to footing the bill for Landy's outrageously money-milking 24/7 treatment. She had a similar situation going on with her performances and money.

Are the ones on ImportCDs US copies being sold out of the US? That may be a dumb question, but I'm not sure what's "imported" about them. I'm really sold on that price, though!

Yes, I think they're based in Kentucky.

Acting on a tip from a coupon site, I signed up for importcds' newsletter. Although there was no mention of this on their site, the email from importcds confirming the newsletter contained a 10% discount code good for 14 days. I successfully applied this to my order, bring the final cost for the
5 cd set to just under $90... a full $25 less than Amazon. Shipping will be slower, as they say 5-10 days for the "standard" shipping I chose; you could upgrade to "expedited" for a few dollars more (I think about $5 as I recall) and still beat Bezos out of quite a few bucks.

Excellent information, thank you!

Importcds.com 5 Cd set for US $88.52 plus s/h

Hmm....appealing. Anyone used this seller before?

Many times. All legit and good.

Thanks. Would be importing anyway and even with the additional charges this still works out better than Amazons base price. 👍

12  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 60th Anniversary celebration and definitive doc to be announced soon on: June 02, 2021, 10:09:45 PM
I think if they're going to make a truly definitive documentary, they at least need to cover more than what's already been covered in previous documentaries. I want them to tell the WHOLE story, including the things we never hear about. All of the album cycles, the unreleased albums, the bedroom years, Blondie and Ricky, all of the Landy stuff, solo career details, Mike taking over as the touring face of the band after Carl passed, the 2012 reunion and how it ended, recording TWGMTR. Everything. I don't want to hear about how God Only Knows is Paul McCartney's favorite song again.

Verse 2 of Im Waiting for the Day. He goes from 23-year-old Brian to 60-year-old Brian and back again.

I was going to say that I read that on this board once, and it immediately came to mind. I've thought of it every time I've heard it since then.

I think ELO's 'Across the Border' sounds a LOT like H&V.

I had never heard that song before, but I looked it up and heard Heroes and Villians in the verse immediately.  Thanks for sharing!

I've got a follow-up: ELO's "The Way Life's Meant to Be" also sounds like Heroes and Villains to me.

How about the Black Friday signed Mike Love books? I got one but didn't think to compare it to the other signatures in the other books. Are those ones legit?

19  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys 2012 Tour Program book - Anyone have an extra? on: February 11, 2015, 08:26:51 PM
I have been meaning to start my cat burglar career recently.
If you supply with me with black spandex, orange slices (nourishment), and the address, I'll do it for $14.

Not trying to bump this with info that is not BB-related, but funny thing. She actually still has my cat and I would gladly pay you $14 to go get it lol.

Most of the BB records were purchased at a local used record shop.

Sounds like a terrible situation.

Let the cops come and tell them you're just there to get your stuff back...it's your stuff  LOL

It's one thing I never thought I would have to go through in a relationship... We were together for five years and I should have never allowed any kind of mixing of belongings. The cops can't "prove" that anything is mine and she tells them that I don't have anything there. I never thought I would have to consider separating our things in front of a judge. I'm 26 for pete's sake. We weren't even married and it's like a painful divorce.
21  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys 2012 Tour Program book - Anyone have an extra? on: February 09, 2015, 07:25:32 PM
I went to the reunion show in Milwuakee. It was a 12 hour round trip for me. Unfortunately, I took a girl with me who I lived with at the time who I'm not seeing anymore. She has the tour program that we got there and refuses to give it up to me. Seeing the reunion tour was one of the highlights of my entire life and to have the tour booklet denied to me by an evil woman who doesn't appreciate them as much as I do kills me. I also used to own every single studio album on vinyl (with the exception of SIP), which she has now, as well.

So I've come here to ask: Does anyone have a spare tour program from the 2012 reunion tour that they could sell to me? This forum might be my only hope.

Go wherever, kick her ass and take your stash

lol I would love to. I've tried a couple of times. She kicked me out of her place and I had to leave a bunch of my stuff there and she calls the cops every time I try to get it. My BB collection means a lot to me and it took me years to acquire the studio albums. At least I still have The Wilson Project book.

Looks like it's still available online at one of their online stores. Good luck, and let us know if you're able to order!

That rocks, thank you for the link! I was looking on Ebay and saw ones going for $150 and I can't even describe the sorrow I felt lol.

I would love to read a list of what you have. That's a heck of a lot of CD's for one band. Like, woah, when you think about it. I second a pic, as well! I'd love to see this. Nothing like a juicy collection.
