And lest we forget the BBs connection with Ghostbusters - the actor who plays Murry Wilson in American Family is interviewed by Venkman on his TV show in Ghostbusters 2. Nerdy fact...

Hi Alan,

Couple of things I found on what I believe to be a press release for this Endless Harmony doc -

It states:

TOURING: The Beach Boys have toured consistently for over 30 years. Endless Harmony contains excerpts of some of their best live performances and the last concert with Carl Wilson.

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE: to Carl Wilson who was extremely popular with other artists such as Elton John for whom he sang on Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me and Yellow Brick Road. Jackson Browne and Tom Petty talk about their relationship with Carl.

MARILYN: Brian's ex wife talks about Brian and life with him during his good times and bad....comments about his family.

What happened to these bits?! This would've made the documentary even cooler. How come you decided not to include them?

Thank you to everybody who helped me get this. This is, no joke, one of the highlights of my fandom for me, and I'm eternally grateful.

I know, I know...there are several 'just got MIC' threads, and I should probably move this there. Meh...I will, later. Cool

Love the video!

You deserve it Billy- what a lovely gesture! Enjoy pal...  Grin

Has anybody downloaded it from YouTube?

Has this been removed? Can't seem to get it and I haven't seen it Sad
33  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: MIC Price Discussion Thread. on: August 11, 2013, 12:26:57 PM
My Amazon UK account is still saying 56.57. Whether this is because I pre-ordered it early I do not know (when I initially put the order through it was priced at over 100). Personally I would recommend pre-ordering it from Amazon UK as - from my own experience at least - once this has been done, the price seems to repeatedly decrease.

I read your comment and checked my account and the same applies to me! Yay!

Great book, however, just noticed something...

Page 380  - 6th November 2004 Blackpool Opera House. It was a Saturday gig  not a Friday, that means the days  for the UK tour are out by a day. Haven't checked the rest to see if it continues.

Page 382 - 12th April 2008 Manchester Apollo. Again this was a Saturday show, not a Thursday. Sorry to be pain but I know this as I met my wife on this night for the first time after the show...

Edit: Just checked the other "selected dates" and there appears to be quite a few where the day is wrong?

Well done Guys! 5 outta 5  Smiley

36  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Just got barred from the Beach Boys/Brian Wilson fanpage on Facebook on: March 01, 2013, 05:06:14 PM

I've had just spent 30 minutes of my valuable life on that site , and YES its puke inducing - I am not naming names but I have come across many of these people over the years (and even had arguments with them about Brian and how is he is not normal BUT they just won't have it) and sadly and certainly not being sexist but the vast majority of the non-realists are women (sorry to all the good women here). One certain women thought she knew everything BB's so at a certain diner party in Glasgow some ten years ago I slipped a certain 7" EP that came with the Holland album (anybody know it ??) on the house stereo (In my eyes classic BW) and she said she had never heard it before and thought it was sh*t - Nuff Said

I remember you telling me that story at Lakeside mate - classic...  LOL
37  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Durrie Parks Smile acetates up for sale for $10,000 on: March 01, 2013, 04:51:38 PM

All I'm saying is you wouldn't want to put one of these on a Technics turntable and have a listening party for friends if you owned them. I still cringe at that scene in some Beatles or Buddy Holly documentary when McCartney puts the original "That'll Be The Day" Quarrymen acetate on some cheap portable record player... Smiley

I doubt it was the original, he had at least 5 copies of the acetate made for personal use when he bought it off Duff Lowe (before he put the original in a sealed vault)...

The setlist is up on lastfm from Seaworld...nothing surprising but, has anyone seen any from the other Florida shows? Curious as to any changes.

Set list for Hard Rock Live, Hollywood, FL 2/18/13

Nothing new, if not the separation of SloopJB and WIBNice.

I should explain myself better.
No new songs that we haven't heard live before, but still good to see Getcha Back, Darlin', When I Grow Up, Ballad of Ole' Betsy and Disney Girls still in the list.

Just out of curiosity - why don't they perform TWGMTR or Isn't It Time, their most recent singles? Is it a contractual thing, that is, those songs can only be performed on the reunion tour etc?

Can someone explain to me why TSS wasn't in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edtion Package category? TSS should've at LEAST been nominated, it was amazing...

No specific reason. Just not nominated

Wow - just looked at the nominees for this category and cannot see what they've got that TSS doesn't (and I love RAM).

Well, Macca got another Grammy for Kisses On The Bottom so I'm sure he's not bothered a losing out to TSS. These awards are so contrived, but of course TSS deserves the win by a country mile.

So So Proud , and MANY thanks to Alan mentioning our recently departed good friend Les Chan xx

For once, they got the result right at the Grammys - and I concur Rob, lovely touch...

Well I'm sure if there had been a funeral for Lennon, McCartney would've been there. Brian and Dennis couldn't be bothered to go to Murry's funeral.

Devil's Advocate...

Gotta say, I've got my tail between my legs on this one. Initially disappointed with the 21 song only line up and only 3-4 rarities  I was a little dismayed, I've gotta say I really, really enjoyed this DVD - especially Marcella and Shut Down!

But only just over an hour in length - talk about cutting corners, I just hope the release the full RAH footage one day. Surely they could've put some bonus features on this DVD...

I haven't really bothered thinking about this release. I'm actually hoping it comes out later on, at a time when I'm less broke Grin

Yeah, I was slowly banking up money behind other purchases, but then I went a bought Oasis's Familiar To Millions on Vinyl, and those of you who know will know my cash has just been rapidly depleted...

You FOOL. I'd rather pay 70-225 to listen to a specially recorded tape of Boris Johnson insulting and mocking me to the very inner core of my soul than that record!

Each to their own I guess. Either that or I'm an obsessive collector.

Even as an Oasis fan, that is a real poor live show. Anyway, back on topic...

I don't think it's an actual attempt at forging Brian's signature - if you look in Badman's book it has all the publicity photos from the same era the handwriting is the same for each individual band member...
