While my collection isn't as extensive as a lot here, I'm not a completist, I'm Adding a personal touch to mine. Getting the Brother logo with the script Beach Boys writing as a tattoo on Friday. I will upload a pic next week along with my very large advertising banner from the Melbourne C50 gig last year and some other goodies.

l live in Ballarat, VIC in Aussie land.... not far from Melbourne
I'm Melbourne as well.
Rick, remember me. I was waiting with you at the back of the State Theatre after the MSO tour. I left, you got the pics. I went back the following night and had success, hence my profile pic

Love the percadella mix. Funnily enough, that mix and It's a Beautiful Day were the first 2 songs I played (loud ) in the hire car after arriving in L. A after a long flight from Oz 6 months ago. To me, they seem like great  "welcome to L.A" songs. Cheesy, but get you in the spirit

Very much in agreement.

A good friend of mine who works at an independent record store in Melbourne, Victoria (one of the last ones left, sadly) is a very big champion of Dennis's work, Cuddle Up and Pacific Ocean Blue in particular. Apparently, POB was a big seller at his store, largely due to his enthusiastic promoting of it. He was also responsible for introducing me to a vinyl copy of the album back in 1990; a great day, indeed!
Which store is it? Because whenever I go into the city, I always look for record stores to go to
I'm tipping its Greville Records in Greville St Prahan. The owners name is Warwick and he loves the BB's. When the SMiLE box came out, he put a sticker on a display box saying "greatest boxed set ever"

How about the sounds at the end if All I Wanna Do where Dennis does some of his best after dark work
Yeah, I was thinking of putting All I WANT to Do as well.
Sorry,my mistake. Was in a rush and mixed up the titles

Sorry if this topic is inappropriate for this forum. Maybe it's part of my healing process because I'm in a dark place at the moment. After a wonderful 17 year marriage, it seems it may have run its course due to the fact my wife says she's no longer "in love" with me. It's not over yet as we will go through counseling but I'm resigned to the fact that it likely is. Thankfully there is no third party involved, just a case of her growing apart from me, which both of us take responsibility for. The point being, as I'm a gentle soul, I gravitate towards the deeper, melancholy side of Brian's music. Many people use The Beach Boys music as a source of inspiration and use it to get through rough patches in life. I however, am finding it to painful and difficult. How can I listen to Pet Sounds and not be upset ? Am I looking at things the wrong way and do I  try and find a positive message in their sadder songs ? Do I not listen to them and just listen to light and fluffy songs for want of a better term ? Anybody else been in a similar situation and did the music get you through. Sorry for the ramble, not really thinking clearly at the moment. Just grieving my marriage and am in a world of pain. Please help !!

Here's Old Man River/Cotton Fields live in Ohio. I don't have the intro nor the ending, sorry I'm lame like that.
You can read my description on the video as to why:

Myself and a couple of other guys were talking to Nelson Bragg at a pub after the Sydney show last year. Can't recall if he said Brian WAS definitely going to make an album this year or had a strong feeling he might do one and then tour the album next year. Whatever it is, it certainly looks promising.

I'm flying from Melbourne, Australia  today, landing in LA, staying in Redondo Beach for the night then driving up the PCH for a few days heading to San Fran. My playlist for the drive is very similar but includes some older stuff as well. Can't wait !

I am ready for a showdown, fights at the BBs monument later......
Great. Can spectators come ? Can you make it about 11am Thursday morning ? The monument is my first stop after landing in LA and picking up the hire car.

I noticed on Facebook the other day that Alice Lillie commented on a status from some guy that said  "I'm apparently recording Brian Wilson this week... WTF."

I was watching the new concert DVD today. I had it cranked up and rockin out to Marcella when my 13 y/o son walks in and starts singing along. He's a current music scene kid but he knows his BB's,not by choice but because I play them a lot in the car on the way to school. He protests but its ingrained in his mind. Anything from early stuff to Isn't it Time. My 12y/o daughter though, a lost cause. Nothing but 1 Direction for her
41  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Live in Concert: 50th Anniversary DVD and Blu-ray. on: December 22, 2012, 10:07:52 PM
I've had my copy for a month now and I agree with most of what has been said about it.  I'm still in the honeymoon period of watching it though. Without a doubt, one if my highlights is All This is That. Simply sublime. There's a shot of a couple standing, arm around each other just taking it all in almost in awe of what they're watching. And just like a Mike and Brian blend of years gone by, Mike and Al still have a special blend as well.
42  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Les Chan... on: December 16, 2012, 02:46:35 AM
I became Facebook friends with Les about 2 months ago. I messaged him to thank him for adding me and I asked him for some travel tips about his home town of San Fran and the PCH drive we are planning for our family holiday to the U.S next year. Not expecting much, he was kind enough to send me a wonderful reply with great ideas with more to follow. He seemed like a great guy. I'll definitely raise a glass for him when I'm in San Fran in March.

Wearing designer shirts with track suit pants and runners on stage during a major world tour.
He has to be the most unassuming rock star ever !

46  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Which song is their most emotionally powerful? on: October 21, 2012, 03:43:34 AM
For pure heartfelt emotion , Baby Blue, Only With You and Forever do it for me. Always makes me think of Mrs Moz from Oz. But a powerful emotion hit during the reunion shows I saw. Watching Brian sing IJWMFTT and with Al responding on the tag "He just wasn't made for these times" was a moment  that hit the spot
47  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Official thread for Brian & Al's Official Response to Mike/Bruce Band Tour in the LA Times on: October 11, 2012, 02:44:34 AM
I honestly don't understand what Mike and Bruce get out of touring small venues, the money can't be that great for guys wealthy as them.
I don't know about Bruce, but I had a newspaper article years ago, can't remember if it was before the 92 Oz tour or 99 tour where Mike said he was addicted to the adulation he gets when on stage regardless of when or where. Would be one reason he can't stay home and mow the lawns. The plants don't laugh and cheer at his routine
48  Smiley Smile Stuff / Concert Reviews / Re: Show 73: Royal Albert Hall - London, UK 9/27/12 on: October 04, 2012, 03:53:27 AM
Regarding the filming of this show, everyone is dressed/groomed like its a professional shoot. Brian is, I think wearing slacks and not the usual trackie pants, albeit with sneakers. His hair is done like he's at a shoot. The shows I saw in Sydney and Melbourne he had the wet slicked back look which makes him look older.John's sporting a shirt and blazer, Darian and I think Paul are rocking a suit. Not to mention Mike's gold jacket. Small observations I know. Just seems that everyone on the night looks snazzy or is it just a reflection of the prestige of the venue ?
49  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Reunion awards on: October 01, 2012, 04:01:58 AM
Best Dennis impersonation: John C with his long hair. Unable to see his face once he started on the skins and if you squinted in a certain light it was the 70s again.

A merit to Scott B on the last night up on Brians piano but too little, too late I'm afraid!

Dennis yes but also Animal from The Muppets. Not the hair but just the wild abandon

Best fashion/trend setter:  Brian-Designer shirts with track pants and runners. Who else but Brian could get away with that
