Maybe it's me, but I've listened to this new song several times, and I can't for the life of me hear any BG vocals, much less those of Bruce or Christian Love. Am I listening to the righty song?

I was thinking about the New York City show to but the Keswick is actually only an hour or so from me and it's drivable on essentially the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Pretty easy ride and I've seen Brian's band there, with Al first tour with him, there before it's a great theater and only look to have about three hundred tickets sold so far.

Why the 93 Paramount shows have not been officially released yet I have no idea they are absolutely brilliant. And will be a tremendous honor to Carl to have these released.

Great question and the Beach Boys it's okay was a really enjoyable documentary from the summer of 1976. I remember doing the same thing excitingly pulling up to the TV and watching that special. Loved all the band members solo spots and interview segments too. That was a great year for the Beach Boys

I've listened to the song a couple of times and I just don't hear the background vocals. I wonder if I'm listening to the wrong song! LOL

Listened to Right Where I belong......it's ok, don't like the off key singing in the beginning. Honestly, no sure why some are saying it's the best thing he's recorded etc....I think some of his ther solo stuff on Pier Pressure, Lucky Old Sun etc....is alot better, but that's the beauty of music, what appeals t one, may not appeal to another. Regardless, can't wait to see LPR, and it's great that Brian is still active giving us new music.

Totally agree, Billy was an open book, a revelation and historian of all things Beach Boy. He will be greatly missed.

Shocking terrible news sounds like it was very quick. Just so sad

Tickets to the Keswick show went on sale yesterday. Lots of seating there, and lots of good seats available. My guess is this will not be a sell out, and good seats will still be able to be ad close to the show, they are also advertising tickets at the door being a couple of bucks higher.

I read where it said that Carnie's husband Rob, part of Brian's band now too, will be leading the band, and  believe it said it would be a 5 piece band. My guess is they will do 3 or 4 Wilson Phillips songs.

I'm about an hour's drive to the Keswick and about an hour and a half into the City by train to Sony. Definitely going to try to catch at least one of these two shows

Thanks Stan....love all of the details there, and your setting the record straight. Would love to hear more of your stories about Dennis and your times together. Tx Again.
65  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike Love just announced a \ on: October 09, 2021, 06:27:20 AM
I'll say this, despite being a year older than Bruce, Mike looks like he's still in pretty good shape physically, for an 80 year old. Bruce, on the other hand, comes across like he's closer to 90, he looks like he's really slowed down alot, looks so old, almost bordering on feeble. How much longer can Bruce continue to tour like this, even for all the $ he makes for virtually doing nothing of significance on stage?  He looks sooooo old.

I watched the video of Rhonda on YouTube and I'm not sure what was going on there. Al looked like he didn't want to step on Brian's toes and Brian looked a bit out of it and his vocals were week anyway. Awkward moment for sure hope it does not occur
67  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian Wilson - 2021/2022 Tour Thread on: October 06, 2021, 12:33:11 PM
Just curious, any reason as to why Brian sang the 1st verse of Rhonda? Don't think I've ever seen that in all the years Al has been touring with him....it's Al's signature BB song.

I enjoyed the channel and the music but only listen to it and limited spurts when I was driving. It was on continuously this summer and I must say some of the songs repeated over and over and over again sometimes within 2 or 3 hours. Still lots of promise with this channel if they would only expand

Instrumentally pretty good, lead vocal by Christian is just not good.
71  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Feel Flows box set on: August 29, 2021, 01:07:32 PM
Awesome songs both!
72  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys 2021 Feel Flows World Tour Thread on: August 28, 2021, 06:06:41 AM
I think with the crowds that go to their shows it would be difficult to do more than one Dennis tune frankly they just wouldn't be there to hear that. Most people anyway. But I think what a great tribute it would be for them to do something like behold the night or wouldn't it be nice to live again and dedicate it to Dennis. That would be totally awesome, and great PR for this box set

74  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys 2021 Feel Flows World Tour Thread on: August 26, 2021, 05:53:08 PM
That's a great tune, and your right, not too bad at all. Mike did a pretty good job, the BGV are a bit off again, and I'm not a fan of Cowsil's voice either, much less Christians. Still, so glad they added this one to the set list.
75  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys 2021 Feel Flows World Tour Thread on: August 26, 2021, 06:47:04 AM
As usual anymore, the band sounds great instrumentally, but vocals...lead and harmony, are terribly weak. Cowsill should be singing this.

Totally agree with this comment from above. Heart is in the right place to include these tunes, I love that move. But the vocals are just sooooo weak, it really hurts the end result.
