Well, finally got mine today in Bath-I should've brought the record player into work!!
There were about another 8 copies left so if there's anyone on here in the UK who can't find it and have a Paypal account, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Murry Wilson hired Jim Garrison to start a conspiracy theory with Ferrie, Shaw, Banister, and Oswald as conspirators. Murry used Sea Of Tunes Publishing as a front for the Fair Play For Cuba Committee, and had Oswald distribute leaflets in New Orleans. Murry hired Oswald’s rock band in 1963 as a warm-up act for The Beach Boys. Jack Ruby played lead guitar – Dallas police detective James Leavelle played keyboards: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ereid01/3902745851/Hahahaaa-brilliant!! "And Jack is no Gremlin.....he plays the Toes-On-The-Nose rhythm guitar" I love this place sometimes!

I'm going to have to order this online now as nowhere here (Bath) stocks it
In the meantime, whilst Purchasing Mojo, I would love to hear these tracks!!
Who wrote the article(s)? I was hoping Sylvie Simmons would be doing it, although it doesn't bode well if one of the quotes has been lifted from the 'Autobiography'

Can I request some Gorky's Zygotic Mynci? Maybe Miss Trudy or Game of Eyes. They also did a song called Mr Groovy about Adrian Baker-see, I knew I could a tenuous link in somewhere!
Seriously, seek out their album Bwyd Time on Ankst. Very Smiley Smile/Odessey and Oracle influenced

He means he's lost weight. He used to be 100%. Hahaaa!! I subscribe to Mojo so should have it a couple of days before it hits the shops. If there's no scans of the front cover by then (doubtful), I'll upload it It's not a regular issue - it's a one-off, so subscribers won't automatically receive it (unless ylou got a reeeal good subscription deal). Ah-OK, thanks for that. I'll double check but have they done this type of thing before? I've always thought Mojo as a once a month mag.

A friend of mine works down the corridor from the Jools studio so I've instructed her to sneak in. As the audience are now all BBC employees anyway, this shouldn't be too hard for her to do. If I hear anything from her, I'll let you guys know
Funnily enough, during one recording she bumped into a very lost Iggy Pop who had popped out to the toilet!!
Did he try to sell her motor insurance ? Haha-no, but she did mention a short, wrinkly man following him around. Could've been Van Morrison, mind!

On the subject of dates, I agree that if the boxset is going to be called, 'The Smile Sessions', then it seems wrong including any tracks, whether vocal or instrumental, that were recorded after May '67 Now....where would the start date be from? AGD's timeline states that the Dumb Angel Sessions started in Sept '66 but obviously the GV sessions started during PS. Do we assume that sessions for GV won't be included? Just throwing out a question

A few things I've wondered for awhile:
1. Is that Dennis singing the opening wordless line of "Kiss Me Baby"? The pretty "ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh..." line? I keep thinking it's Dennis, but then I feel like it's Brian or Mike sometimes. Anyone know?
2. Who is doing the laughing in "Punchline"? Is it the Boys themselves? The very 1st laugh you hear at 0:18 sounds so awful and forced, I can understand why this never was released on an actual album. Strangely, I think I recognize that exact laugh from an outtake/session of some sort from the Smile era, but I can't seem to recall exactly where from.
2. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's Brian doing the laughs in Punchline. Glad to be proved wrong, though!

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Should Mike Love go the CD-R route like Al?

Ok ok... I see your point... but you gotta admit the diffrence One of those two cancelled the european leg of a tour to "put the finishing touches to his new solo album" If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you. Al canceled the European leg of the Wilson/Jardine tour because he saw through the bullmerda in the wifeandmanagers situation. No, he didn't. The tour went ahead, just without Alan, and the reason it went ahead without him is hardly a secret (and it was nothing to do with Melinda). OnT: there's a huge, overreaching reason why Mike's Country Love will never, ever be released - it is weapons grade radioactive release anything Did Brian walking offstage have anything to do with his decision? Sorry-bit out of the loop I can't imagine Mike doing anything with CDR's- I assume he'd rather put his efforts into touring than promoting something which would only appeal to a very niche market. That said, Country Love is shockingly bad but I quite like First Love

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone on here
I don't post much but I check the board everyday and you guys have not only made me laugh and swear and equal measures but mostly, through stories (Cheers Ed and Jon) and research (AGD and Ian amongst others), always taught me something new about my favourite band
So for that-many thanks and lets hope next year brings us more things to discuss (and question!!)

I grew up on The Moody Blues before The Beach Boys and they still remain in my Top 5 bands. Days.....is an excellent album but I've always preferred To Our Children's Children's Children and In Search of the Lost Chord
And, to link with an earlier thread, I'll be seeing Justin Hayward in a couple of weeks in War of the Worlds-can't wait!

Am I right in saying that Disney had the album remixed by Al Schmitt because of his Grammy wins (even though the mix wasn't too different from Brian's original mix)? And that the date it was released in the US was a few weeks before the Grammy deadline?
I'd love it if the Disney covers album got nominated in several categories this time next year
