Willie Alexander, icon of the Boston music scene for 40 years now, is revered for his punk-era Boom Boom Band, his short stint in The Velvet Underground line-up and his avant-rock Persistence of Memory Orchestra, but he never played to larger crowds than he did with his '60s band The Lost, which toured with The Beach Boys.
