    While I understand this view, Dean has a rich catalog of work to pick from. Even if he did some of the more obscure Jan and Dean hits, I bet they would go over better then he thinks. It's about whether to play to your fanbase or to the public at large. I think there needs to be a balance.

    I sensed a similar approach/attitude as I read Bob Green's new book When We Get To Surf City. My impression - If Dean did not need the cash flow, he would not be touring as much as he does.
