I was wondering if anyone could provide an explanation of this song, "Never Left".  It's marked as a Brian & Dennis collaboration but to my ears it sounds much more like a modern recording with a baroque pop tinge to it.  I would highly doubt it is any of the Beach Boys on vocals, so my assumption is either it was recorded by someone else with ties to the band or any Beach Boys involvement is mistaken.  Nevertheless it sounds great and definitely inspired by Brian Wilson, so this is driving me crazy.  In inputting the lyrics I came across absolutely nothing around the net.

Any thoughts?

Not so much "Never Left" as "Never Heard Of It" - link, please ?

OK, did some elementary Googling, and found two mentions, both with dead links. Sure would help to actually hear the thingRoll Eyes

There are only two mentions I can find on it, and from the sounds of it this is what you came across as well.  Here's a message from someone else apparently with the same question...

Can't seem to find any location where it is available online.

This was discussed once on another message board...either The Nearest Faraway Place or on Shut Down. It's a fake.

Yeah, I remember that too.

Remember Andrew...if you and I haven't heard it, it probably doesn't exist! (or in my case, was from 1974 LOL )

After much work to find out what it is, I've been able to discover that it is the song "Never Left" by alternative rock/pop artist Kenny Howes.  It's from 1998, but there's an undeniable Wilson influence to it that makes me glad I stumbled upon it anyways.

Thanks for the help.
