Hmm. Am I the only one who would rather just hear the originals? I guess if W-P exposes more people to the music, it's all good.

I wonder what the track list will look like, I'd like to see Sweet Mountain included.

They kind of already did that with their album "California". Some original new music would be nice, especially if they are still with Russ Ballard.

Excellent call. Let's hope the girls remember their mom had a pop career too!

To tell you the truth, I couldn't care less.....
But it I guess they kinda do it as a tribute to the BBs' 50th anniversary and just for the fun add some Phillips-compositions....

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I liked Wilson Phillips. Carnie was on a reality show to become a county singer and lost. I didn't think county was her style. Then again, It was a reality show.

It'd be kind of a kick if they covered "Little Children."

Poor little Wendy she's too scared to speak.
Little children they're marching along.
And look at little Carnie with dirt on her cheek.

Actually, I've heard that Wilson Phillips is going to cover the SMiLE album. Al didn't have his facts right when he had his little slip of the lip. "Wilson Phillips Presents SMiLE' is going to be AWESOME!

Their producer's name was Glenn Ballard.

"Til I Die" isn't by WP, but rather the Wilsons -- Carnie, Wendy and Brian, as is the case with "DWB" as well.

Wilson-Phillips did reunite at the tribute to Brian some 10 years ago to perform "You're So Good To Me."

Rather well, actually, in my opinion.

Wilson Phillips originals have never done much for me, so on the surface this seems like a decent idea.  As has been discussed in other threads though, even when they do classic Beach Boys songs, something is often lacking - "soul," "warmth," whatever.

It's been suggested before, but tapping Brian to produce would be a nice touch, and might make for a better sounding record.

Thank you for the correction. Ballard did produce the Christmas album this past year, so it makes me wonder if he will be producing the new one too?

The best song on that show came from Bobby Brown. Seriously.
