I've never used MSN.

AIM is pretty good.

Presumably someone else has to be on it for you to have a conversation?

You could talk to yourself through it I guess.

It's like being on the phone.

I use Miranda, which is compatible with ICQ, MSN, AIM and all kinds of chat programs. Nice to have when friends use different programs.

There's a program out called Trillian that my brother used to use. It combines MSN, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, and another one or two. But I never used it, so I don't know how good it is. I just use MSN. Hey. Why haven't I added some of you peeps from the board before??

Haha!! Those are some Praties.* Indeed...btw, the only other poster I've seen so far with MSN is Laurie.

*My brother says he thought the picture was misspelled and said "PRATY" for some time. He was disappointed when he realized he had invented that detail. At one point, he was going to photoshop it and switch around the R and A...I wonder what ever happened to that idea...

Well Maybelline, I recommend AIM since I'm on it. So are plenty others. You think I'm on here a lot posting? You should see how much I'm on AIM!

I can't download Miranda or Trillian at the University. I do use msn too occasionally though. I use it mostly to communicate with my girlfriend about when to meet up at home for dinner and the like.

I hate America Online with a passion, but everyone I know is pretty much on AIM, so that's what I use.

Does one need to have America Online in order to use AIM?

AIM is a separate program from AOL.

Yeah I just meant that I hate everything having to do with America Online (the company).

Be forewarned that when you install the new AIM "triton", it will basically hijack your computers settings and make their AOL browser your system default.  It will then open it everytime you launch AIM (and it is a memory HOG).  Thankfully you can stop it from doing this in the AIM preferences.

I'm using that AIM Triton program. AOL IM Enhanced basically.

To cut to the point--I haven't had iTunes up in a long time. Built in AOL Radio with XM Radio. Can't beat that.

Feel free to IM me, name is in my profile.
