Two legendary people in my opinion.

-no time for sergeants- an underrated film.

-McGavin in A Christmas Story- amazing character

Wow, sorry to hear this. Knotts, of course, is timeless. One of the greats.

And McGavin, yep, terrific in A Christmas Story, and the Night Stalker and all the rest. I'm suddenly remembering a series in which he was a sports writer too. I used to like that show. Funny, haven't thought of it in two decades, but I still remember.

Two lives that left their mark.

Coincidentally, they both starred together in the 1976 Disney movie No Deposit, No Return as two "veteran" safecrackers.  One of the better live action Disney movies from the 70s, IMO, if not simply for their respective performances.

No way!  Wasn't Knotts just on that 70s show?  Sad.  One of THE greatest TV stars PERIOD.

Two of my favorite characters.  And I read just this morning of the passing of Denis Weaver.  Another favorite character.

The years just creep up on me.  Doesn't seem possible that all of these guys got old and died.

Was watching the Andy Griffeth show today and I saw that it was a marathon for Don Knotts. Blew my mind. That sucks! He'll always be remembered.

Check out (yeccch) Larry King tonight, he's having a tribute to Don Knotts. Guests include Andy Griffith, Ron Howard, Jim Nabors, Joyce DeWitt, and Don's daughter.
