My first post.

Does any one else think that it sounds like Eric Cartman singing lead ?

I'd never even though about this before but yes, now you mention it it does sound like Cartman! Terrible song though, IMO the worst song they did during the 60's.

What would Dennis Wilson do?

I agree. Though I think the song is great and very, very underrated. I was probably discovering the greater Beach Boys catalogue in the very early 00's whilst still at high school. At the same time I was getting into bands like the Strokes. I had read reviews online that said How She Boogalooed It was utter crap, but I loved it. It seemed to fit in with all the other new music I was getting into.

Thank God this isn't another Al vs. Carl thread.  I was gonna throw something if it was.

Everyone knows it's neither Al nor Carl, come on. Every Beach Boys song is sung by Brian!

I hear that Chef can be heard faintly on this but it was mostly wiped because he kept going on about big chocolate salty balls and Brian was not in the mood to hear this kind of unhealthy food talk.

I'd kill to hear Brian's version!

As for "How She Boogalooed It", I love it and think it's very underrated.

I know he doesn't actually say this but Carl sounds like he's saying "come on, f*** it, sock it to me!" at the very end of the last verse. Or maybe he is slurring it to let him say it but have it be nigh-indecipherable...  Cool

Wasn't that: '...shock it to me!'?

Just asking, you know.

I must be in the minority who like the song, especially the organ break. Never thought it sounded like Cartman, but do now. Thanks for that.

Oh, WH as a whole is satisfying. But I can't stand the production. Tinny, monaural, narrow bandwith. In fact, when I and my brother made the first mobile phone set ever (2 soup cans and a 10 ft wire), our conversations sounded like WH.

Has anyone else noticed just how much Cartman's voice has changed over the years? Does anyone other than me still watch South Park?

This is extremely common in animated serieseseses - watch a first season episode of the Simpsons and compare it to a fourth or fifth season episode, for instance.

True but isn't funny how you never noticed it at time from episode to episode? Only years later during monster boxset marthons! See also Family Guy (Lois much less nasal in s1), Futurama (Bender & Professor change voices between s1 & s2). Every character in The Simpsons has a had a voice change or character mannerism shift except Bart & Lisa since the early days.
