Kumbaya, circa Friends-era, would work in the same vein as Ol' Man River I think.

I'd like to offer one of my favorite songs by a fellow Smiley Smiler FatherOfTheMan:
https://soundcloud.com/mikeleroymusic/take-a-break-from-love-1
For some reason, I cannot hear anyone other than Brian singing it, both lead & the "wah-ooo" harmonies. Brian circa late 60s-early 70s. I know, Mike's voice is totally different, but then why not?

Summertime by The Jamies

I love this song! Can't you just imagine Brian taking the female high lead back when he had his original falsetto?

This would've been a great song for the BBs to cover, with lead vocals by Carl, maybe Brian. Anybody remember this song? It's called 'Maybe I'm Old Fashioned'.

I think the old song Once In A While, definitively covered by the doo-wop group The Chimes, would have been great. If Brian had his full falsetto in '76, it would have improved 15 Big Ones. It has that deep soulful quality that I hear in Brian's best vocals.

Earlier this week I gave a spin to Bruce & Terry stuff on YT. "Girl It's Alright Now" instantly became my favorite, Terry was such an amazing singer & the backing track is so Pet Sounds, just magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRZ3AXLbNhI (80s Carl with Brian on the chorus)

Then we have "Don't Run Away", a song universally loved by the BBs fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtDGXpfIoz8
According to this source, Mike sang bass & wrote the lyrics, meaning the credits are B. Johnston/M. Love (!!!). And it's recorded the same day as "That's Not Me"! Isn't that cool?! Anyhow, get Brian on lead instead of Bruce, Mike stays on bass, guest vocal on middle 8 is Terry (again) + the group harmonies. I already imagine it in my head - knock-out!

"Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" (Lilo & Stitch) - modern day Brian with his band  doing harmonies (or via hiring a kids' choir). Very pleasant song, very joyful.

"Hello, Dolly" - Blondie on lead, in the r'n'b style (I already imagined that, sounds good!).

"Mairead" (tune by the board member James Hughes-Clarke) - Al in his "Lady Linda" tone of voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm9yZu_Cowo&feature=youtu.be

if they would rock hard and have clear strong vocals and cover  "cobblestones" by genya ravan, i think it would be a great version.

So, how long you've got?  As far as I'm concerned, very few songs would not have benefited the BB touch.

I'm gonna go with "This is It" by Kenny Loggins, imagine the powerful lead from Carl with a soft Michael McDonald-esk background vocal from Brian and then altogether the group comes in on the chorus  Cool

In that vein, "Teach Your Children" would have been beautiful as a Mike, Brian and Carl song in a similar mold to "Devoted to You" off of Party.

Oooh or even Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" during their Surfs Up/Sunflower period would be absolutely awesome! Imagine the "la la la's" with Brian, Bruce and Carl together and Dennis singing the verses  Shocked

Or, how about another Blue Oyster Cult song from the Agents Of Fortune album, "Debbie Denise"?

It may have already been thrown out there, but I wonder how Brian's vocal symphony would sound, way over the top, full core, "Girl's On the Beach" style, 4 or 5 part harmony on some of the Everly Brothers songs?  Like a really full, lush beach boys version of "Crying in the Rain", or even Cathy's Clown?
