The thunderous Baldwin in the alternate mix of "Fall Breaks" on 1967-ST:

Actually, just about every Beach Boys musical moment ever.  LOL

(No guesses as to which song takes up the entire second half of the track.)

The unfamiliar bit in the long version of "Vegetables" on 1967-ST----and from then on too many SBBMMs to mention... Grin

Brian's vocal flourish at the end of this version of Surfer Girl. The moment I'm referring to starts at about the 2:32 mark of this video...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzxxMYcGUi4

I absolutely love it! Can't listen to this version without rewinding the end a good half dozen times.

And now it's been officially released in all its glory! Thank you!

Track 29 on Sunshine Tomorrow 2!

Probably all of "Prayer", but the hummed chorus in "Little Pad" has been kicking my ass for like almost a year probably.

Shut Down, the middle eight, sung in harmony. Lead vocalist Mike drops to bass and joins the choir that lays down the rapid-fire technical data. It feels just like announcer at the races describing the contest. Great chance of perspective, and the excitement mounts... Then arrives the honking sax solo, just like hot rods revving. All those little things, the devil in the details, they did this better than anyone even at this early stage. Listening to this, you are at the races.

Oh, and Carl's final, almost-acappella "California" in California Feelin'. Sublime.

The endless amount of surprising but JUST the right bass notes, everywhere. Basslines, that's where greatest greatest compositional genius lays.

"Know she'll be apart of my life"

So much raw emotion and vulnerability. I often see it as BW responding to people saying his relationship would fall apart and saying "No, she'll be apart of my life"

Both the organ and sax solos in Brian Wilson's version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman.  There aren't enough great instrumental moments like that in Brian's solo career IMO.  I'm hoping his new album brings more.

Mike Love's bass vocals on Let Him Run Wild. I don't give Mike much praise, but his contribution to this song deserves some praise. The way he sings "waited for you, girl" after the chorus is goshdarn perfect.

Jack Reiley's falsetto lines at the end of Day in the Life of a Tree. Never fails to give me chills.

Deep Purple. What a gorgeous diamond in the rough from a bygone era. Good on Brian for digging it out and making something beautiful out of it.

The entire ending of that song always gives me chills. And apparently Brian was in the booth during the recording and he teared up when he heard it. I just love the different voices that make up that entire song. Truly underrated.

The boot where BW sings it live in 1971 is even better! Cool Guy

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

"Mrs. O'Leary's Cow" when it gets uptempo, with cool drums, funny sound effects etc. It's funny track generally.

The version of WIBN where Brian sings the bridge instead of Mike. Brian brought a longing and melancholy to the "Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray..." part. It just sounds damn goofy when Mike does it.

it's Jack Rieley

Definitely Jack on lead, but to be fair, Brian sings the 2nd "Oh lord I lay me down" very faintly. This causes a reaction from the crowd, including a "GET IT, BRIAN!".

You can also hear him join in on the harmonies at end.

Yeah I think the “Get it Brian!” calls from the crowd, plus the picture in that video made me think it really was Brian singing the whole thing. Tbh I went years thinking Brian sang lead on ‘Meant For You’ so my track record sucks when it comes to placing vocals.

Footage from the 1967 Unicef Variety Gala in Paris.  The boys sing "O Come All Ye Faithful" at the end and they totally nail it.  The harmonies are just beautiful!
