Does anyone have any info on this wonderful song?

Is it legit? Is it an Al song?

It sounds like an unused section of 'California Saga' to me.

I think it is fabulous!  Cool

Perhaps best PM it... that link would probably disappear sharpish if Brother Records Inc PLC Ltd got wind!

You can practise the PM on me if you like, I'm a willing victim!

Isn't this also known as Looking Down the Coast?

Al sings something about laying his head on a woman's breast...creates a great image, I bet Lynda was happy to hear that.

Yeah, I think "Song Of The Whale" is another title for "Lookin' Down The Coast". They're the same song - Brian sings lead on the opening lines. It's already been bootlegged heavily.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Also, parts of the melody were recycled from "Winter Symphony".

Dates from 1978 or thereabouts. Yeah, just looked - July 27th, 1978 at Western. Alan's re-recorded it for his new album.

There's no other way for Al, except he's standing on his famous box

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
