Just listened to it - nothing new: all Mike said was that he and Brian had talked about doing a recording project. No time scale, nothing set. I could say I'd talked with, say, Bruce about doing his biography and it would be just as accurate, just as meaningful. Mike is not going to record with Brian... Mike has talked with Brian about recording. Big, big difference. Big, big non-announcement.

So...  Why does  Mike persist in making his silly announcements?  A need to hear himself on the radio?

Wow! Really surprised! As soon as possible, I'll pre order the new Mike and Brian album! (totally ironic).
This annoucement sounds silly. Expected that he would talk about new projects that's in the works, this kind of thing. 
But he put a repeated cd to play.

Even if Brian said yes to a song, album, reunion or whatever to Mike. A good manager or artist would keep it under wraps as...

BRIAN HAS A NEW ALBUM

....this is the ONLY project that should and will be promoted by Team Wilson for the next few months. Longer if it is toured. Period!

Ah, but Mike does get it.  Brian is on the verge of a well-promoted album release.  Why shouldn't Mike try to piggyback on the publicity?
It really doesn't matter if the only time the word "reunion" was ever mentioned was when Mike asked Brian to bring potato salad to the annual Wilson/Love backyard BBQ.  You can put out a press release or give an interview that says anything, really. 

Bruce is writing an autobio, huh?  Wonder how many chapters will be devoted to "I Write the Songs"...
