Is this the same building, or has it been demolished and this is what's at the site today?

That's the site - the previous building was demolished.

"Relax The Back"...

Maybe Mike Love could buy it and re-name it "Getcha Back".

I've always wanted to know the story behind that Brian picture. He can bother to put on shoes, but still have his bathrobe on?  Grin

It's Brian Wilson were talking about here - normal rules don't apply.  Grin

Looks like he's wearing chinos and T-shirt too –  maybe that' not a bathrobe but a pharmacist's gown....?

Okay, shot in the dark!

Iconic photo tho'.

Exact same robe as he's wearing in some photos that Steve Desper took during the Surf's Up sessions. Same tshirt, too.

Don't think I've seen these (and my BBs library is, anyway, still feeding mice in the loft at the mo')

Have you ever heard of anyone actually finding Brian Wilson in there, minding the store? This always looked like an after hours photo op to me. How long did the business actually last? Did he sell the store as The Radiant Radish before it closed? Did anyone else in the extended Beach Boys family work there? I've heard very little about this episode, seems to me, and virtually nothing that was anecdotal.

We did try calling the RR back in our college days (when that picture first appeared) but no one answered the phone, as I recall. So we called Van Dyke instead, who was listed in the phone book in those days.  And he was, as always, the perfect gentleman.

Brian started the Radish with cousin Steve Korthof and former PA Arnie Geller... and according to Tom Nolan and Jack Rieley, yes, he did serve in there.

Journalist Tom Nolan says that Brian was serving when he went in there once but Brian refused to sell him any B12 (whatever that is) as he didn't have a call from his doctor.
