The guy singing has a genuine appreciation for the song. I don't know about the other two (especially the backing vocalist).

From what I remember, David stated he didn't care for it at all. It was either that or his experience of the people he worked with in the studio.

He does like his arrangement (and the original for that matter) it was the experience with the studio that he regrets.
