I find it hypocritical how fans of Dennis and Brian continue to bring up this Hall Of Fame moment. Surely Dennis and Brian never did anything in public to emabarrass the group. They were always (barely) walking examples of class and dignity. And, of course those same fans find different ways to rationalize the behavior - just cover everything with drugs, alcohol, and mental illness. And, if you get tited of using those excuses, well, they wrote Pacific Ocean Blue and Pet Sounds, so they must be great guys with big hearts. Mike, he never wrote that great music, so he can't get away with being an butthole.
WTF???

I know, it's over your head. But, really, I tried to make it simple enough for even you to understand.

He doesn't care enough what people think.
He does, he even has great fun saying all the wrong things to stir up a specific part of fandom. Anything beyond that is silly. Hey, Brian himself cares more about Mike than about the millions of consumers who bought his albums and tickets.
Oh, sorry for ruining your weekend, fans.

If he didn't care, he'd put out all his solo recordings

Ok, I really didn't ever need to see the words BRIAN and FELLATIO in the same sentence....
Thank you for the unwelcome imagery, guys!
Can't we talk about Dennis fellatio instead?
Or Mike and his dueling bald heads?
OK, OK, I really, for the life of me, don't understand what the end result of all this Mike hatred, bile spewing is supposed to be? I don't understand the point! At the end of the day, what is the result: you despise the lead singer song collaborator of your favorite band? Where does that get you? Are we supposed to vote Mike out of Beach Boys history and take his name off the Hawthorne Historic Monument? In the Beach Boys saga, ALL members are the bad guy at one point or another. If Mike's an asshole, he certainly had some stiff competition. As we all know from life, passive aggressive behavior is just as destructive as outright aggressiveness, only, the ones who actually say what is on their minds are usually demonized to a lopsided extent.

Since I don't take him serious as an artist, what did he do?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Only when Mike Love did it, it was much less funny.
