I uploaded a "Shortenin' Bread Suite" from the various times it has cropped up, or at least the more obvious ones. Everything from "Ding Dang" to "Metal Beach" to "Goin' Home." I thought somebody should do it...

Most of it's out on the collectors circuit - take Carl's lead off the Adult/Child version, that's the 1973 recording.  Grin

Andrew isn't Brian's bass vocal from 1976-77 as well. He sounds really gruff for 1973

Brian has a co-credit on it, contributed the title line and, well, you can guess his other contribution.  Grin He's also singing on it with Nicky, Jeff and Mr. B.

Always been a fan of the riff. Nice work, really enjoyed it!

A 40-minutes version of "Shortenin' Bread" definitely should be part of a Beach Boys reunion concert. Bring in Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop as special guests.

Ah, this is great. I think "Morning Beat" and the early "Ding Dang" could have fit in here, too.

Has the long version of Ding Dang showed up elsewhere?

PM me if necessary.
