Awesome job Alastair, you really captured the Smiley vibe perfectly.  Vocals were spot on - you've got a hell of a voice!

Excellent variable2! what a cover, i totally agree with Chris Brown: "you really captured the Smile vibe". Encouraged by your efforts, i decided to share a cover i made a few months ago of Heroes & Villains, i honestly i must say that it is not so well recorded as yours, but it is a sincere atempt to tribute Brianīs Spirit.
It is not the complete song, just some of the sections, here it is:

thanks guys, glad you like it..

ha, i suppose the smiley vibe sorta comes through in the dry vocals, and the low-fi setup (mp3 recorder for guitar, laptop built in mic for vocals)

Pretty sure I've told you this, but I really love your voice. That's a great rendition.

would you like your recording being part of our tribute? Please look and answer here: http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,7740.60.html

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
