Celebration question:
Many years ago I used to trade tapes/records and one tape contained a "punchy" version of Almost Summer (no, not the KRTH 101 version). Does anyone know anything about that version, I haven't seen it on any b**ts...

Brian question:
Steve Dahl once played a one-minute demo of Brian doing Let him run wild, very similar to the original, very crispy, it was not the version that was later release on the Imagination album... Is the complete demo version available anywhere?

Cheers and Merry Xmas!!!

I have heard four versions the original record, the KRTH, a Brian demo, and the one in the actual movie. The movie version is a little more punchy so maybe that's what you heard.

Movie version segues into a much sparser version of "Sad, Sad Summer": regarding the custom versions of the song, of the two dozen rumored to have been recorded, the following are known to exist.

KRTH 101 - LA (pressed on a promo 45)
WMMS - Cleveland
KFRC - SF
'a Detroit version'

So, are the last three listed, songs that show up on a Master Tape, somewhere? (Like maybe in the BBs storage locker)
Or are they versions that have been reported by fans who have recorded them off the airwaves?

I've had tapes of the WMMS and the KFRC versions for over 30 years - the former is patently taped from the radio, the latter could well be from the original tape sent to the station. The Detroit has been reported by many credible sources, but I've never heard of anyone with a copy.
