Just discovered Nancy Sinatra's version of California Girls with Brian on backing vocals.  I wonder how many people know about this?

It'd be handy to put it in the youtube thread.

There is thread specifically for covers - Rolling BBs covers thread. Can you repost CG there? convenient to have them in one place.
Official BB Youtube is usually for posting shows, concert bits, interviews, unreleased songs, clips.

For those with access to the AXS network, it will be showing the movie "The Wrecking Crew" (featuring Brian) tomorrow at 10:10 central US time. It will also be shown Sunday morning at 1:00 am.

Quoth Carl, in '83.  I understand he's talking about vocal arrangements.

"It's not widely known, but Michael had a hand in a lot of the arrangements as well...He would bring out the funkier approaches.  It makes a big difference, because it can change the whole rhythm - the whole colour and tone of it".

I wasn't aware Mike had too much of a hand in composition, barring providing lyrics.  To what extent did Mike have a hand in the vocal arrangements and in helping with musical ideas?  How often did he chime in and alter Brian's vocal writing?  Are there other written sources where they go into this (the involvement of the other Boys in coming up with the arrangements)?  Is it obvious if one listens to the SOTs? (I've never listened fully to those things).

What would Brian look like if he grew a beard again?

+ = Huh

I've been of the mindset that a beard suits post 60's Brian better than being clean shaven but, I guess I never really put any serious thought on how he'd look with one now days.

Are there any recorded quotes from Milt Love regarding how he felt about Murray? A interesting angle I've never heard about...

Mike Love's dad. From what I've seen quite a similar man to his sons and Mike has had less then favourable things to say about Murray....

Does anyone remember the incredibly poorly-written, pretentious Beach Boys article that included the phrase "diaphanous moiety?" I've been looking, but I haven't been able to find it again.

Does anyone know much about this Barbara Ann parody called "Here Come The Cubs?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybDexDAd33E

I can hear Mike and Foskett, I think, but can't pick out anyone else's voices.

It's listed on this cassette as "Beach Boys," so I guess it is 'offically' the band.  Has anyone heard the other song?

Does anyone know where a full unedited version of the Lei'd In Hawaii Heroes And Villains is? I'm curious about Brian's raunchy stage banter.

I've heard it....there's only the 'eating p*ssy' line in there if memory serves

I'm under the impression from a few different quotes that he often wrote his own bass vocal line, which in the earlier songs added a very slight r&b tinge. I wouldn't go so far as 'funky' but I guess on the BB spectrum...
