Who drew the 'That Lucky Old Sun' album cover? I know the album is (loosely) based around the Peter Blake painting but this is a totally different style and can't see any google evidence that it is him. The reason I ask, is that I would like to get a copy without the text on the front of it and locating the artist seems like the first logical step to this...

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm... what Peter Blake painting, exactly ?

On the other hand, one of the original 250 copies of Blake's Gettin' In Over My Head can be yours for only £1,200.00 ($1,887 American), plus tax. Unless you want a frame too. That's extra.

During the coda of the song When I Grow Up (To Be a Man), as Brian starts to sing "it's kinda sad", Mike has a background vocal that I can't quite make out.

Anyone know what it is?

As far as I'm aware its just Mike going "oh no" in his bass voice

Yes indeed. You can hear it clearly in the "stack-o-vocals" version:

I know we all love to ponder: "why wasn't this track on this album? Why wasn't WIBNTLA on Surf's Up? Why wasn't California Feelin' on an album?"

I think a real crime is why wasn't Don't Fight the Sea on the Still Cruisin' album? It could have been a very strong single and perhaps used in a film after its release. I think it also would have helped Side 2 of Still Cruisin'. Maybe start side 2 with Don't Fight, then Make it Big. Make Wipe Out last.

MY QUESTION IS...

Is Bruce's keyboard actually plugged in? It's rarely audible. On the C50 tour, Brian's keyboard was audible at times, but I only heard Bruce's on Disney Girls. For the majority of the shows, when he wasn't clapping or waving, his keyboard never seemed to make any noise.

On the newer iTunes release (from late last year), the Sacramento shows, there's the performance of Little Honda on the second night, why aren't there any vocals until the end of the performance? Something wrong with the audio equipment/microphones?

I've often wondered this myself Tongue I don't think it is considering how much time he spends not actually playing but it doesn't affect the songs haha. I think it's mostly the backing band the provide 90%/95% of all the instrumenal work

Does anyone know if the  Love and Mercy movie poster is available in a 24" by 36" print size? (the normal movie poster size).  The largest, actually only, size I can find it in online is 11 by 17 inches or thereabouts.

During the period colorfully (and accurately) described as the 'Cocaine Sessions', same time as 'Oh Lord', 'I Feel So Fine', ect.

Note sure why Dennis wasn't credited on GIOMH as a co-writer.

I've always felt that was a truly bizarre (and certainly unfair) crediting snub. Could it be that it was not desired to remind fans of the dark times when CB was written, and a credit would have called attention to that painful era? Could be the same reason for Stevie's non-release. I can't make much sense of the credit one way or another.

How innacurate is this account of Terry Jacks trying to record Season's In The Sun with the Beach Boys (commentator's already pointed out part of it can't be true as the sessions weren't in 68/'69)?

Is there a version of "Chasin' The Sky" that's 2:40 in length? The version I have is just over 4 minutes.

What are the lyrics to the opening of the song Darlin? Most sites I've looked at list it as "Ohh darlin', My darlin' you're so fine", but Carl also sings something that I can't quite make out, and that lyric sites don't list. It is more pronounced in certain versions ('72 In Concert), than in others (wild honey). To my ears it sounds like "Ohh, keep dreamin that darlin", but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's either "keep dreaming it" or "keep dreaming of".

+1 for "Oh, keep dreamin' 'bout Darlin"

It's fairly clear on this cover of the song by David Cassidy (who was one of the original Beach Boys before he was a Partridge  Roll Eyes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eRkpxufJcA

Sounds like Carl sings the same thing. . .

I have an Al Jardine guitar pick from the 90's that also says the Beach Boys on it on the other side.  Are these rare?
