For anyone who has seen M&B recently - do they have an intermission or do they play straight through for an hour and a half?
Straight through (encore breakette excepted).
Hmm...just found this and might have answered my own question. I'd love to see an intermission at my show if it means more songs will be played!

All I can say is, in my recent experience - Henley this July - they did 90 minutes pretty much non-stop until the encore. Mind, there was a curfew after which the power to the amps would be pulled.
Likewise at Epsom two years back.

There are venues where they want people in-and-out. It think the casinos are shorter, as the case of the 90 minutes you mention. But, many theaters need to make that bar income during intermission to survive, and the band has its' concession tables working at the same time. The country fair show in September, was without a break, and was outdoors.
And back in the day, with curfews, they did pull the plug on the amps. But, those were the 11-12 song written on the palm setlist days. And four acts.

Not a question, but it is insignificant. Instead of studying for finals I decided to write a story based on Sherry, She Needs Me.
Summary:While working as a cashier at a grocery store, Phil Kolin meets Sherry Wilson, who is a regular customer there. The two would see each other once a week and became close instantly. One day, out of the blue Sherry declares her love for him. Phil does not know how to react but ends up falling in love with her. Later the relationship becomes rocky as Sherry grows distant due to personal problems. Eventually Phil breaks off their relationship after a huge argument tears them apart for good. Months later he confesses to Sherry about what was going through his mind during their fling and apologizes for abandoning her.
For the full story:

I wanted to ask this on another thread but it got locked...but is it a general consensus that Mike had a
"Breakdown" at the Rock and Roll hall of fame speech? Or is it just a rant? If anything to be considered a "breakdown," I'd consider that instance (because of his recent fasting issue I believe) and the other time in early 70s when he was fasting and had to go to the hospital.
What's everyone else's thoughts on this?

Breakdown ? The band played a gig three days later and two days after that turned up at another awards show (AMA) where Mike sported a construction worker's hard hat, presumably to deflect criticism. It was just a rant, and a spectacularly mistimed one at that.

Didn't most people say he was drunk when he made that speech? I didn't think he drank alcohol but I guess that's easier and more publicly polite than saying Mike Love can be a real asshole sometimes.

Has Brian ever comment on "An American in Paris" as being an influence on "Mrs. O'Leary's Cow?

If I was going to get a Beach Boys Tattoo, which one would be the best one to get?
I'm not keen on using the Brother Records logo as it's too American Indian.

Can't help you with what to get but I recently got a tattoo of the Brother Records logo with The Beach Boys script writing of the early 70's above it. Also added a blazing sun behind the Indian. Got it on my upper left arm. I love it !!! If I knew how to post photos from my phone I'd put it up.( I've tried but I think the file is too big) Someone more tech savvy than me will have to help because I do want to show it off.

Problem with that is not only does faces never age well on tatoos to the point of unrecognizability, but I don't really like the Beach Boys for their Surf music.
I'm think the Wild Honey cover looks pretty good

Here's a random question. Was rewatching American Band the other week after many years and I always loved that Good Vibrations clip the band did on some TV show. The background is really trippy lookin.. looks like an early green screen type of thing with the band moving around and doing all sorts of things pre-recorded while the band performs. Does anyone know where and what date this comes from? It's one of my favorite versions of GV and I think is a legendary video clip for it.
