Nice with an update, Eric! Smiley

A slight correction:

The July BB concert in Sweden was indeed the northernmost BB show ever (barely beating Fairbanks, Alaska and Reykjavik, Iceland), but it took place on the third and not the fourth of July. They played another venue in Sweden on the fourth.

Thanks for the corrections!

Steve, who sang Good Timin' that day?  I just assumed it was John Stamos...Chris Farmer used to do it when John wasn't there.

Eric: If I remember correctly, Christian Love sang "Good Timin'" at the Ashland, Ky show

Hi Eric
A new set list for you. Mike and Bruce at Buffalo Thunder Resort in Santa Fe (actually Pojoaque but too hard to pronounce I guess) November 21, 2009 8 PM
Surfin
Catch a Wave
Hawaii
Do it Again
Surf City
Surfin Safari
Surfer Girl
Dont Worry Baby
When I Grow Up
Be True To Your School
So Young
Why Do  Fools Fall in Love
Little Deuce Coupe
409
Shut Down
I Get Around
Their Hearts Were Full of Spring
In My Room
God Only Knows (Bruce lead)
Good Vibrations
Kokomo
Then I Kissed Her
California Girls
Sloop John B
Wouldnt It Be Nice
Help Me Rhonda
Barbara Ann
Surfin USA
Encore:
Fun Fun Fun

Performed very well except Bruce's voice was shot on God Only Knows. The concert was a big deal for northern NM. The Governor of the state and country singer Randy Travis were singled out from the audience by Mike. The Mayor of Santa Fe was there as well and numerous local county and city officials. This was my first time seeing the Mike and Bruce show and I was duly impressed with their band and the vocals. However no band introductions and the rarities that I have heard about in past shows were not to be found in this set.

One highlight of the evening: after making a bawdy comment to the music director Mike says "Man I'm glad they serve alcohol here" and not missing a beat a local yelled from the back of the room "SO ARE WE!" causing Mike to lose it.

I think it's really cool that they're playing "Surfin". What's the arrangement like currently? It is like the original, the Summer In Paradise version, or something else?

They play it like the original version. In 1992, however, when Summer In Paradise had first come out, they played the "hard rock" version that was on Summer In Paradise.

The Boys also played Surfin' in 1967 on the Lei'd In Hawaii shows, often in 1981-82 (note the Long Beach show, where Al sings, audibly, "come on pretty baby and f*** with me"), and Michael and Bruce have played it on and off since 1998.

Here's how they play "Surfin'" nowadays. Thanks to Stegibo for the link:

EDIT:
And this is how Al & David sound:

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
