Q:How much of "It's Ok" was actually completed in 1974?
A:Basic track, no vocals.

Was Roy Wood/Wizzard on the 1974 session or were their horn additions overdubbed around the time vocals were done?

Roy, Mike Burney & Nick Pentelow was on the 1974 session - they were in LA at the end of their only US tour, and Brian called them to come on down and play on the session. Roy played drums, the others sax.

Ed Roach and Stephen Desper both discussed with me Dennis' disregard for the need to keep silent. In 1981 they actually did a surgery to remove polyps  so he could speak and sing again. He wouldn't stop trying to yell on stage, sing, or talk, long enough for it to do any good. Who knows how much they could have done but he probably wouldn't have had as much trouble as he did.

Talking about DW's 1981 voice, judging from the Long Beach clips he almost sounded like a different person back then or at least totally different from when he would sing and yell at Knebworth.

2:14 into the video Dennis proclaims "I love Shawn!"  You can't see him, but you can hear him.  And yeah, his voice is a lot different.

Yeah, you think so, then ask yourself, who else is it?  Whoever it is keeps interjecting throughout the rest of the song.  I don't think I sideman or other member of the band is going to do that..nor proclaim their affection for Shawn Love on mic.  It's Dennis.  It just doesn't sound like Dennis.

The person in question also seems to shout "I love Venice" at 0:52, which is another indication of that person being Dennis.

Dunno about that one, but it is definitely DW saying "I love Shawn" - just before the camera cuts away, he leans into the mic and the "I" fits the video.

Odd... I met Dennis a few months later, in October '81, and his voice was much raspier then.
