I'm just wondering when was Dumb Angel/Smile first announced in the press?

Also, I have a question aimed at Andrew or anyone else who thinks they know the answer. On the Bellagio site it lists the first Smile session as August 25. But why not say the August 3 session for example? Or is that because of the fact that the album hadn't been announced in the press yet?
