Hi,

The interview Sean Lennon did with BW used to be on www.brianwilson.com but it is no longer there.

Does anyone know of anywhere this great interview can be found online?  Thanks.

That interview is amazing. I believe that might be the only time Brian ever mentioned Mrs. O'Leary's Cow (the song) by its name.

another highlight I remember from the interview: at the end of it, Brian says something to the effect of "that was a really good interview!  you are beaming love, sean! you are a certified beamer of love!"

I have that interview, it's in RayGun magazine.  Another strange part is when Sean Lennon says, "Sometimes I wish my dad were still around to give me input on songwriting," and BW just says, "Yeah."

I also remember Lennon asking Brian if he liked Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, but BW had never heard of them.  And I think Brian asked if Ronald Reagan was still alive.  Roll Eyes

Doesn't seem strange to me at all..  haven't you felt (painful) emotion and not been able or willing to express it in words?  I am sure Brian understood exactly what Sean meant.

It makes sense.   Just funny to read on paper.

I have it on video from the Imaginations documentary. But I am not sure if that was released. I may have just recorded it. There is also some audio of it on the bonus disc for Imaginations. But I am not sure if they still include that.

Maybe Brian's inner circle hid Nirvana from Brian. Who knows, perhaps hearing their music and seeing the charismatic Kurt Cobain may have awoken the inner grunging teenager in Brian. Can you imagine? Flannel shirts, ripped jeans, heroin, shotguns, collaborations with Courtney Love...

Where is the video to this interview? It sounds amazing, and I hate Sean Lennon. Smiley Smile, key modulations, Mrs O Leary's Cow, omfg, where is this thing? How can you guys have misplaced it? Find it, put it on YouTube. Right now. Go. Do it. Right now. Go. Do it. Sean Lennon, beaming with love? Does Sean just have a crush on Brian? He's gay right? That lisp...? Right?

I stand to be corrected, but I think that was the St. Charles house.

I thought that was very sweet. Sean must have been in his early-mid 20s at the time, and he arrives, if I remember right, with a backpack on, as if he hitchhiked from Chicago or something. Brian walks down the drive to meet him and Sean sort of giggles like the fan he is. And I think Sean was interviewed for the BWPS DVD but his segment was cut out. Is that right?

I have the magazine. It's in a box somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it out today or tomorrow. It covers some unexpected ground, yes, but I seem to recall that's more in Sean's questions than in Brian's answers.

That's probably true with all BW interviews.
