That I know of: Daria, 12; Delaney, 11; and Dylan, 5 or 6. I thought I heard of another, but maybe that was a dream.

Dylan was adopted just before the 2004 February London shows, so he's about five and a half now.

Brian's gonna have a teenager on his hands in a couple of months Shocked

What kind of bothers me, though, is how they act like Carnie and Wendy aren't really his children. Of course we all know they are and don't need to be reminded of it whenever reading a biography on Brian, and I know he didn't do all that much in raising them, but even on his site it says, "A father of three..." Yeah...plus his two biological kids. It seems like Melinda tried to downplay the biological relation in that Larry King interview, too, where she said something about it being more special because they chose their adopted children. And that is a nice way to put it, but it just sounds like she's trying to separate Brian even more from his children he had with Marilyn.

I don't mean any harm by that, because I think it's a great thing that they've adopted children. But I know I'd feel hurt if I were in the place of Carnie and Wendy.

I thought this was going to be a trick question and the answer was that we were all Brian's children or something.

Well, Nicole, speaking from personal experiences, wives in second marriages seem to be very jealous of the children (if there are any) from the previous marriage. It, in some way, represents the bond between her husband and his previous wife. There's a lot more pyschoanalyzing I could try to do beyond that simple explanation, but I don't want to get into it on a BB board. Of course, I'm not excusing husbands, either. Men tend to take a more detached attitude towards the children from their wife's previous marriage, however, in some ways they can be just as manipulative and jealous, just in a more passive aggressive way.

You know... that's the sort of thing which, if it was Mike, would be added to the 10 Reasons Why Mike Is A Meanie list. Must say I lost a little bit of respect for Brian in reading that.

On the subject of Brian's kids and in the fashion of my awesome "Here's A Mystery" thread: why is Wendy so hot and Carnie so... not?

Wendy looks more like Marilyn. Carnie looks more like mid-70s Brian.  Cheesy

If you type "Carnie Wilson" into the Google image search with the "safe search" feature off, you will see some very sexy naughty (NSFW) pictures of Carnie.

Good Lord! Are those real? Now we know what Brian would look like if he were a girl, and naked!

(Are there any of her sister or their mother?)

Carnie posed for Playboy a year or two or so ago. I hope Brian never saw them. He reads Playboy sometimes.

Aegir, you just caused me to think of elderly Brian Wilson masturbating. I hope you're happy.

"When A Man Needs A Woman" always did sound strange to me being that Brian supposedly only had daughters ... hmm

I don't think he knew what gender his child was going to be, so he just called it a son. That's another great lyric: "A man needs a woman like a woman needs a man, and when the two get together oh unh unh unh unh ahhh!"

True story: that is the actual reply that Murry gave to a ten year old Brian who asked about the birds and the bees.

Eh, nobody, what is it with you that makes you ponder Murry and sexuality so much?

I always found it odd that someone with Brian's record (drug use, mental illness, not a very good father for his biological daughters) got permission to adopt children. I don't know about the rules for adoption in America, but the Dutch people I know that adopted or tried to adopt children all had to deal with tons of paperwork for years and endless lists of impossible rules.

...is correct. You get screened for years and tested and have to report and there is a silly age limit too. Who says that people of 46 can't be good parents anymore? It always struck me as weird that we in Holland have such rules for adoption and a very liberal abortion policy.

I couple I know weren't allowed to adopt because they own a bar. Can't say I see why that's a reason.

It's karmic revenge for making us picturing Murry getting his hump on.
