I just listen to this and at 4:33 there's a vocal harmony on the "oh-woh-woh" that isn't on the album version. Don't know if this was ever talked about but nice to hear this. I think there should be a collection with the 70s singles....

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

This was discussed before (although I don't know when exactly). There are several different mixes or edits compared to the album-versions, many of them not available (anymore) on CD. To mention a few 70/80-ies releases that aren't available (anymore) on CD.
- Wouldn't It Be Nice (live, Big Sur Folk Festival, single edit)
- Cuddle Up (single "mix")
- We Got Love (although an error, it was made available on a few early German pressings)
- Honkin' Down The Highway (shorter edit, from the first digitally remastered Love You CD)
- Come Go With Me (different mix, from the first digitally remastered MIU CD)
- Hey Little Tomboy (single version, longer edit)
- Peggy Sue (different mix, from the first digitally remastered MIU CD)
- Winds Of Change (different mix, from the first digitally remastered MIU CD)
- 4 different edits of Here Comes The Night (regular album version and single version excluded)
- It’s A Beautiful Day (both single and (longer) album version
- Lady Lynda (single version, shorter edit)
- Sumahama (single version-longer edit, AND the so called waves mix, to be found on a Japanese sampler LP
- Livin’ With A Heartache (US-single version, shorter edit)
- School Days (US promo single, slightly different intro)
- San Miguel (from the first digitally remastered Ten Years Of Harmony CD)
- Sea Cruise (from the first digitally remastered Ten Years Of Harmony CD)
- Chasin’ The Sky
- Fourth Of July: A Rockin’ Celebration Of America (Back In The USSR, Come Go With Me, Surfer Girl, Barbara Ann (live), and Happy Birthday America)
- Lady Liberty
- Runaway (live)
- Rock N Roll To The Rescue (beach party mix, instrumental mix, and percadella mix)
- Happy Endings (vocal/edit and vocal/long version)
- California Girls (live, b-side Happy Endings)
- Wipe Out (wave 1 version and wave 2 version)
- Don't Worry Baby (Everly Brothers with the Beach Boys, probably released on a Everly Bros comp…)
- Somewhere Near Japan (single edit)
- Kokomo (Spanish version)
- Problem Child (single version, instrumental version, and radio edit)
- Several Summer In Paradise album tracks edits and single versions…

Probably forgot 50% of it ….

And I didn’t get into several solo/related singles, like Sound Of Free, Another Day Like Heaven (shorter single edit), Pipeline (shorter edit or mix), Gimme More Rock ‘N’Roll (shorter single edit), several shorter edits of Carl’s solo-singles), Mike Love 45’s (Jingle Bell Rock anybody?), BW’s Barbie flexi-45 etc. etc etc.

Different recording - that's the 15 Big Ones version.

- Somewhere Near Japan (single edit)

More of a remix.

How come there were so many mistakes with mixes on the first MIU and 15 Big Ones CD issues?

No errors with the first 15BO CD reissue - it was Love You & MIU that used incorrect masters. I asked the mastering engineer, Joe Gastwirt,  why, and he replied that the tapes he used were labelled 'final master' or some such. Pushing a little harder, he admitted he didn't do an A/B with the original vinyl release.

There are a couple extended fades on the 15 Big Ones 2fer. "Palisades Park" is one for sure.
