Yesterday me and my dad went to Gothenburg to see Brian Wilson live for the first time! The tour is called Greatest hits so i expected that many of the songs would be from between 1963-1965. I was right but i wasn't just hits it was also some not so famous songs like Salt Lake City, Custom machine, Desert drive, The little girl I once knew, Soul searching and Desert drive. I think it was a really nice performance by Brian even thou he sometimes seemed a little lost. The band was great, Jeff Foskett were on fire Grin

Some things Brian said
Before The little girl I once knew: "This one never hit the charts but I think this song is one of the best we ever did"
Before Add some music to your day: "I think this one got some of the best lyrics we ever did"
Before God only knows: "If I don't get standing ovations after this one, there is something seriously wrong with you"
He also said that Chuck Berry had been an huge influence for him and the beach boys and he covered his song Johnny B Goode.
At the end he said that he was tired of all this rock n roll, then he played the last song for the night "Love and mercy".
I think the highlights of the concert were his songs from That Lucky Old Sun and especially Midnight's Another Day which was very majestic and sad.
Here's the set list:
"California girls"
"Girl don't tell me"
"Catch a wave"
"Then I kissed her"
"Dance, dance, dance"
"Surfer girl"
"In my room"
"Salt Lake City"
"Custom machine"
"409"
"Soul searching"
"Desert drive"
"Please let me wonder"
"Don't worry baby"
"I get around"
"Sail on, sailor"
"Do it again"
"The little girl I once knew"
"Your imagination"
"Add some music"
"When I grow up (to be a man)"
"All summer long"
"Shut down"
"Little deuce coupe"
"Do you wanna dance?"
"Sloop John B"
"Wouldn't it be nice"
"God only knows"
"Midnight's another day"
"Going home"
"Southern California"
"Good vibrations"
"Johnny B Goode"
"Barbara Ann"
"Surfin' USA"
"Fun, fun, fun"
"Love and mercy"

Brian on why he loves God Only Knows: "Because Paul McCartney said it was his favourite song"

"New rule: Having anything to do with the creation of a punk rawk version of "All You Need Is Love" (never with the horn part because lol hornz are silly and dumb) gets you the death penalty. No questions, no trial, it's your fault, pick out your coffin." - runnersdialzero

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
