It's SO close to the original. I love recording soundalikes for fun. It's like a puzzle.
So much fun. The Love You tracks are FAR more complex than they seem.
I'll post the isolated track sometime if ppl dig it.

It's one of my very favorite Beach Boys-songs.
You did a great cover that's very close to the original. Love it, it really sounds good. Great that it will be on our tribute-project.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Very nice (and faithful too) though I was hoping for a more hoarse vocal delivery! Razz

I enjoyed it. And you're right about the Love You arrangements. A few years ago (sh*t, actually like 9 ... I'm getting old) I was working through them and did maybe 4-5. I wasn't recording them verbatim, but learning them and then doing them differently. People talk about those songs as quirky and they mean the lyrics, or just the superficial sounds. But the song constructions and arrangements are quirky, too. A lot of the pieces, I wouldn't have thought of, ever. I think it's some of Brian's best work, vocals aside. (I love the sound of his shitty vocals, but let's not lie. They're shitty.)

Dennis has always had a kind of rusty voice, even in tact.

Thanks guys! The fun part was trying to get all the same instrumental sounds.

2 Clavinets (doubled)
3 different moog sounds (I especially love that big, fat bass synth that BW used in lieu of a bass guitar throughout the album).
Tambourine

That's the entire track. No guitars or bass. I'll post the instrumental track very soon.
I might record I Wanna Pick You Up or The Night Was So Young too as this was so much fun.
