The Beach Boys (Mike, Bruce, Scott, John, etc.) MAY be appearing this Thursday (7/30) on the early morning show "Fox And Friends" (Fox News Network).  IF they do, they MAY be performing a rarely-performed-live song.  Maybe.

That is a moral problem. I hate Fox intensely. What's a man to do?  Huh

C-man, could you please clarify what you mean by MAY? Is this just a rumor, or is there some truth in it? Thank you.

Yeah, I don't want to wake up at six AM just to watch a morning talk show for three hours and then be disappointed.

Maybe they'll do Cabin Essence!! Though I don't think a song like that would jive well with the "angry white conservative male" Fox crowd.

That's a shame. I for one would have loved to hear that, and also wish Brian would do it
at his concerts. It's cool that you were going to perform that song on T.V.

That is a nice philosophical proposition. Is the non-appearance of SMiLE in 1967 cool too?

Just asking.

I have no idea what you're talking about (maybe I'm just dense). Huh

And no, the non-appearance of Smile in 1967 was decidedly NOT cool. Cry

Never mind, I was fooling. See: 'I'm So Young' by the BBs was a nice idea but did not get realized (on TV). You wrote that you found the planned event cool; a hallmark of that event was that it did not come true. Same with SMiLE.

Yeah, I know it's a stereotype... I'm what some would call a "commie", "hippie", "soshulist", "pinko", "stupid librul", etc. and I love pretty much everything from Surfin' Safari through Love You, and parts of almost every album after that (except KTSA!!), including Lahaina Aloha from SIP (that album is good for a few chuckles every now and then...the videos for Summer of Love and HFITS are even funnier!).

I was just playing along with the whole BBs playing on Faux News...though I would've loved to hear I'm So Young!

Wow!  I would have loved to have seen that one on TV!  The YouTube video sounded great.  Scott, I hope you guys will do I'm So Young at Humphreys in San Diego on Sept 25.  And for any Smiley Smile message board members who have not seen the current Mike and Bruce Beach Boys, under the musical direction of Scott Totten, all I can say is ... don't pass up your next opportunity to do so!  The band sounds great, both vocally and instrumentally, and they've expanded the set list with some cool stuff.

Like he said.   See this line up of the Beach Boys.  You will be very glad you did.
