This is directly related to the discussion on the Let Him Run Wild thread.  A best of 1965 LP--what would it be?  My approach was to try to make a "On the Road to Pet Sounds" mix, but this does neglect a lot of good stuff.  The backing tracks for these songs are also really great by themselves.

California Girls
She Knows Me Too Well
Girl Don't Tell Me
Kiss Me Baby
The Little Girl I Once Knew
Three Blind Mice
Help Me Rhonda

Let Him Run Wild
You're So Good To Me
Please Let Me Wonder
I Guess I'm Dumb
Summer Means New Love
In the Back of My Mind

bonus tracks:

Let Him Run Wild take Instrumental
California Girls take Instrumental
Girl Don't Tell me Instrumental
Let Him Run Wild Instrumental
Guess I'm Dumb Instrumental
You're So Good To Me Instrumental
She Knows Me Too Well Instrumental
I'm So Young Instrumental
Kiss Me Baby Instrumental
Please Let Me Wonder Instrumental
Help Me Rhonda Instrumental
Back of My Mind Instrumental

I would replace Three Blind Mice with the instrumental version of Salt Lake City, which is brilliant.

The Beach Boys '65

Side A

1. Do You Wanna Dance
2. Dance Dance Dance
3. Please Let Me Wonder
4. You're So Good To Me
5. Good To My Baby
6. Don't Hurt My Little Sister
7. She Knows Me Too Well

Side B

8. California Girls
9. The Little Girl I Once Knew
10. Girl Don't Tell Me
11. Guess I'm Dumb
12. Help Me, Rhonda
13. Kiss Me, Baby
14. Let Him Run Wild

Everybody gets a lead vocal except Bruce. I'm counting "Guess I'm Dumb" as a Beach Boys' song. It was written and produced by Brian Wilson. He and The Honeys sing on it. The Wrecking Crew play on it. And, Glen Campbell, who sings the lead vocal, was a Beach Boy in 1965. What more do you need? police
