On pre-order but a grey area release – likely to be a needledrop.

These were legit:

what's your thoughts on the contents>>55 tracks from 1962, of which 35 are officially released for the first time. Digitally remastered. Includes the debut album, plus the original single version of "Surfin"<< as you go off hiking in search of the yeti?

Its UM Vol 1 Alt Surfin' Safari album less one track, and probably a bunch of needledrops bolted on to the original album.

But you know that…!   Grin

I've had Luau on CD since 1993 when I happened to look in the bargain CD sale bin at the local K-Mart and found "Lost And Found" for under 5 dollars new! Great find. I was actually surprised about ten years later to see how many fans must have missed the original release and didn't have that CD.

My own opinion: Luau isn't that good. The sessions are more fun than the actual song, which is a bit of a clunker. Surfin, however, sounds like a hit even in its most nascent stages as they're rehearsing it at the Morgans'.

Thank you all, guys! I was looking for a legit release, but given the prices I'll stick with the needledrop I have.

Luau is not a genius song, but I still like it.
