I had a black cat that looked very much like yours.  Named her Rhonda.  But i'd agree that Pawthorne is the best name submitted so far.  Eric's suggestion of Coca Moe is also a really good one.

Cocoa (Coco) Moe. Didn't see that before, excellent idea Eric! Not necessarily their most beloved effort (discussed ad nauseum elsewhere) but it does undeniably encapsulate one aspect of their overall band identity and image, for better or worse. If your feelings about the song create positive associations with the name, it's obviously a good one!

His name is KOKOMO!!!!  Thank you so much to everyone who put gave me an idea, they were all great and it was really hard for me to pick. Especially between Pathorne & Kokomo. Kokomo ended up winning out though in my fam. I dont really have a spelling yet because I know someone said Coca Moe, but whatever lol...thats his name! In case any one else was wondering my brother picked out the name Tangerine for the other kitty.

Sorry his eyes are closed, he's got a little eye infection. The little yellowish beige one behind him is my brother's so he's thinking of a name for him.

Wow, what a cutie! Even with closed eyes. The beige girlie behind is beautiful too! Generally, I like all kinds of cats, but most of all - entirely-black-colored. Forget what people say, they don't bring misfortune, it's a silly old-fashioned sign.

I really think Pawthorne is cute & Harmony is good too.

Sorry, but these are awful, especially the former. Didn't get what is "cute" about it (nothing against you, Billy). Same is Kokomo/Cocoa Moe or whatever similar. Too banal. Anyway, in case blackie has died or you want to have more cats, I'll suggest:

- Wilson (maybe typical, but sonically just perfect for a cat);
- Al (no comments);
- Friend(-ie) (because it's obvious that cats are people's friends);
- Farmer's (I know, you aren't from family of farmers but still it's a nice name, I think);
- Custom (in the official birth document he will be known as "Custom Machine". Idk, it sounds cool to me);
- CalSaga (girl name; if boy's name, then simply Cal);
- 409 (coz cats have 4 legs, 0 of stupidity & 9 lives);
- John/Johnnie/Johnny (I always liked this English name plus after "Sloop John B" or "Johnny Carson". Officially he would be called like that anyway);
- Crocodile/Crockie (after the song "Crocodile Rock");
- Ahoy (official full name - "The Water Chant");
- Dixie Trombone;
- Wendy (one of my favorite American girl names);
- Monster Mash (official name "Boris ... ... Love").
